What's the difference?

What's the difference, if any, between a little and a submissive?

A submissive is just a broad term in a power exchange. A little is a type of submissive to their caregiver. The one giving up power if you want to look at it that way. However in any power exchange, while it may be the submissive giving up power they really hold all the power by choosing who to give their submission to.

Also of note, a little doesn't necessarily have to be a submissive. Could just enjoy acting younger.

For me personally being little has nothing to do with being submissive, it's just how I describe my tendency to act younger. But for other people being a little is a submissive thing, so it really does depend on the person. Everyone has a slightly different meaning for both.

As ashwee said depends on the person. The word read, some see it as read others see it as read.

While its great to say it's different for each person (because it is) there are a few general things that separate submissive from a little.

Submission is a mindset. It's about actively wanting to give power to another person because of the headspace it provides. A sub wants to give the Dom control over some or all of their life.

A little can be someone who just prefers to act younger and might want someone around to act like a Big but only to help them feel little but they never give up control.

A little who is also a sub tends to be someone looking to share the responsibility of caring for themselves. It fits with the desire of wanting someone else to be in control.

The difference lies in whether or not you want a power exchange or you don't.

Sunchasher... that is the most articulate description I have come across.

Thank you for that!
