I know adulting is hard for all kinds of people, but for me and other little I've talked to, it seems to be excessively hard.

Especially when you want nothing more then to go into little space and hide from all your responsibilities.

I know I have a couple ways to cope with having to have a big mindset and be an actual adult.

For example I usually carry a tiny stuffie in my purse that I can grab when I need to or I'll eat childish snacks or food when I'm out.

I was wondering if anyone else did or has anything similar that they do?

Oooo, I know!

When I feel little when I'm in classes, I have my friend draw me something that I can color when I finish working and act big!

Also, if I really need to, I'll buy ice cream at the canteen to feel little

When I was working at a print center I would go into little space when I would work on projects, but snap out of it once I had to help a customer. Since I'm not working at the moment, when I have to do adult things I carry around a small toy with me (Usually a dinosaur), bubbles, a small tin of glitter and some sort of drawing thing. I will also buy kids snacks and little foods to make myself feel small. When I have the money I'll buy stuff to make kids lunches and go to my favorite park to eat it and make a flower crown.

It is really hard.

I find annoying and frustrating waiting in lines for doing adult stuff, like lines in banks :( I have cried of frustration in banks and hospitals. I dunno but such things that include lines, form filling and stuff are just so frustrating for me.

I actually enjoy my work, so I don't feel much like going into Little space when I'm working... but other adult stuff like dealing with angry people, driving when people is aggresive and stuff, I just can't :(

I find it very helpful to listen to "little" music while waiting in line for things. I keep an awesome Disney playlist on my Spotify account for this reason.

As for filling things out, if you can get away with it, bring your own fun-colored pen! I find carrying gel pens with me always comes in very handy. Or even one of those pens that has a cute little bobbly thing on it!

I'm empathic also, so I struggle with picking up on other people's emotions and when an upset customer gets in my face or someone is driving aggressively I start to feel those feelings myself. I find it really helpful to keep something fun around, like a bouncy ball or stress ball (Or one of those 90's colored water tubes with glitter), or for the car get a fuzzy steering wheel cover! It's very relaxing.

Sensory tools to bring you back down from feeling so adult even in the smallest amount can be paramount to helping you get through the day happily.

This advice is really helpful. thanks.

I do a lot of driving and that always stresses me. I bring my stuffed lion in the car with me or listen the Disney songs. The idea of bubbles or glitter pens are great ideas and I think I'm going to look into that.

What I lack in the "adult responsibilities" department, I more than make up for by having Generalized Anxiety Disorder. Because of this, I not only have Xanax in my purse at all times, but also sparkly Hello Kitty stickers.

One thing that works well for me when I need to feel little is accessories. Socks, earrings, sunglasses, headbands, etc. It helps to see or feel that "Little" thing on my body. I think this might be called a grounding technique?

Food and drinks are good too. I have a contentious relationship with my sister so when we met at a restaurant after not speaking to each other for three months, I ordered a Shirley Temple. Then this past weekend, when I had no other choice than to stay at her place, I brought Goldfish pretzels and Every Burger cookies with me. (I also watched a lot of Nick Jr and K-Pop videos while I was there and that was certainly helpful.)

Having a travel stuffie is a great idea. I think I might need to buy a new Beanie Boo for exactly this purpose

I know it sounds kinda silly, but I usually like to bring my paci with me in my purse and that helps if I know I have it haha. Sometimes if my daddy and I are driving through a lot of traffic I might even use it on the ride home.

I also like wearing colorful clothes and socks that helps a ton too :)

Yes, adulting can get really frustrating!!! Orz

That's why I always have sweets with me and i listen to anime/jpop music to de-stress. ^_^ sometimes, i also color my fingernails with cute pastel or glitter colors and i can instantly relax by just looking at them (even in public).

I have a bad habit of going into little space when I'm in stressful situations. It happens a lot at work and I have to force myself out of it when interacting with customers.

I find that playing with my hair helps me feel better! I take a piece and just twirl it around my finger. It's subtle enough that I can do it at work without looking weird. :3

I also have a cute stuffed animal keychain that I take with me everywhere!

Adulting is so very hard at times and exhausting especially when you have a very adult job and go to school for a very adult career .. I don't like it one bit :(
