Guest RedDragon Posted May 13, 2016 Report Posted May 13, 2016 I was watching Parks and Rec the other day and I love the relationship between Ron Swanson and April Ludgate. They aren't romantic, of course, but he does play a Daddy role in their relationship. It got me thinking, what TV or Movie couples mirror Ddlg? I'd love to hear about them if anyone knows of any! The only other that comes to mind is Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson in Lost in Translation. Love love that film...
AmadeusEx Posted May 13, 2016 Report Posted May 13, 2016 The only thing i can think of is Cosmo and Wanda from Fairly odd parents (the roles are pretty obvious here ) 1
Mica Posted May 13, 2016 Report Posted May 13, 2016 Gibbs and Abby from NCIS? It's not an obvious one but there is something there? 2
LoralieHaze Posted May 16, 2016 Report Posted May 16, 2016 The only example I can think of is Umaru's (non-sexual) relationship with her brother in "Himouto! Umaru-Chan". The way he takes care of her is so cute even though she's a total brat to him
Witchling Posted May 16, 2016 Report Posted May 16, 2016 Wesley and Buttercup from The Princess Bride sorta give off some DDlg feels to me. 1
sunchaser Posted May 18, 2016 Report Posted May 18, 2016 I'm watching Sweet Home Alabama and honestly I'm getting a DD/lg vibe from Jake and Melanie.
BeardyDaddy Posted May 18, 2016 Report Posted May 18, 2016 Dharma and Greg was definitely a prototypical DDlg Couple. Another common example would be the flipside in the show modern family with claire and phil dunphy.. 1
LoralieHaze Posted May 26, 2016 Report Posted May 26, 2016 Someone mentioned this on another topic so I thought I'd repeat it here: Lucy & Ricky on "I Love Lucy". She was like a bratty middle sometimes and he gave her numerous spankings.
dnswd Posted May 26, 2016 Report Posted May 26, 2016 Its more CG/l than DDlg. http://myanimelist.net/anime/102/Aishiteruze_Baby%E2%98%85%E2%98%85
Guest ProfDez Posted May 28, 2016 Report Posted May 28, 2016 One and Mieze from City of Lost Children. But maybe they're switches I guess? Or ironically inverted DM/lb? http://i.imgur.com/v32ZbLe.jpg I saw Blue Velvet again the other night and Jeffrey is a total CG(+voyeur, obvs). But Dorothy isn't a little I don't think. Frank is a switch though. (No eye contact / "Mommy"). http://i.imgur.com/Xqn3COd.png Woody Allen movies have lots of CG/l tones. Manhattan and Whatever Works are the obvious ones, but also the Juliette Lewis one (Husbands and Wives?). Even Annie Hall with how he guides her with books, college and therapy. http://i.imgur.com/8aRA2bJ.jpg Not sure how little the following female protagonists are, but if Dharma is an example (a good one I think!) then I like these for their occasional CG/l moments/timbres: Susan and David in Bringing Up Baby http://i.imgur.com/1HfeqdR.png Susan (circumstantial little?) and Philip in The Major and the Minor http://i.imgur.com/MaLa9Ec.jpg Jo and Dick in Funny Face http://i.imgur.com/6omvUcv.jpg Harris and SanDeE* from LA Story http://i.imgur.com/7InmL5N.jpg Some more Blue Velvet-level messed up ones, never completely CG/l but there's moments/overtones especially in terms of little but there's not much CG, just (sick/cruel) Dom-ness Martha and Helmut - Martha http://i.imgur.com/SWfQV6b.jpg Billy and Layla - Buffalo 66 http://i.imgur.com/yZ0wAlA.gif Trigger warning-level quasi-CG(/DD/MD?) / l(/g/b?) / (over-the-line-extremes?) Guest LavanderRabbit Posted May 30, 2016 Report Posted May 30, 2016 Scully and Moulder from X-Files. Also is my Daddy's favorite show.
Guest algernon Posted May 31, 2016 Report Posted May 31, 2016 Ron and April from Parks and Rec are one of my favorites, as well as Others not yet mentioned include Randall and Jennifer from My First Mister is one I like. If you want a list, though, here are some good places to look: (Warning: any link to tvtropes may result in unintended wiki-walks hours in length.) http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/IntergenerationalFriendshiphttp http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/MayDecemberRomance I've heard it argued that Edward and Bella qualify, which would make them my least favorite.
Guest Teagan (means little poet) Posted June 1, 2016 Report Posted June 1, 2016 Gibbs and Abby from NCIS? It's not an obvious one but there is something there? They are my favorite. I have a best friend who is 76 and we are just like Abby and Gibbs. But also like them we also aren't not sexual at all but it is very much a daddy and daddy's girl friendship but not a DDlg relationship.
Guest Teagan (means little poet) Posted June 1, 2016 Report Posted June 1, 2016 Would Tori and Sakura from Cardcaptors be one?
Guest Teagan (means little poet) Posted June 1, 2016 Report Posted June 1, 2016 Oh I can't believe I forgot this one. "Pretty Baby" Violet and Bellocq
haruharu Posted June 2, 2016 Report Posted June 2, 2016 There's this anime Ouran High School Host Club and two of the characters kinda have a dd/lg relationship. The little one is a boy named Honey who acts like a little boy, like he's really adorable and loves sweets and carries a stuffed bunny around and the daddy would be Mori and he acts like Honey's protector and is very caring of him. It's actually really cute.

M-Felicity Posted June 3, 2016 Report Posted June 3, 2016 OMG Pwease watch SUPER LOVERS! it's a totally caregiver/little anime! GAY! "Big" brother and a "little" brother. It misses the plot, but it's super adorable, and I can totally relate myself to it :3
Guest Berry_Bat Posted June 4, 2016 Report Posted June 4, 2016 (edited) hmm I can only think of Nick and Jess from "New Girl" (?) and of course "Criminal Minds" Morgan and Garcia Edited June 4, 2016 by Berry_Bat
philababygirl Posted June 16, 2019 Report Posted June 16, 2019 Have any of you seen Who's That Girl starring Madonna and Griffin Dunne? She's definitely a little and he seems to take on the daddy role in her life. It's a very fun movie. I also really like Laggies with Kiera Knightley and Sam Rockwell.
