Dealing with this kind of ignorance...

So I was online today...and I followed a blog and it was a cute kawaii blog. I like kawaii things in and out of little space thats just who I am lol. Ive always been real girly. So, today I get a message from them saying this,

Names have been blocked for privacy reasons. 

But if they had just said that, It would have been fine. The reason I replied what I did was because of what they continued to do. i went to their page to unfollow them

and saw they had posted this:

And someone had messaged them and the response:

And then I sent this,

And this was the respsone, they screenshot and posted to their blog...:

And I never replied after that..:/ I really dont know what to do. Like it doesnt really bother me personally but, the ignorance towards our community is saddening.

Sorry you had to deal with that, its unacceptable and frankly disgusting. It just shows how bigoted people can be. Unfortunately there is not alot can be done about this apart from unfollowing, blocking etc to remove your support. I think its pretty clear people like that have such a closed mind anything you try and say will be shut down.

Im very careful online as to what a reveal about my interests. It makes life lonely though.

DDLG is becoming more common but id say still early days. Even within BDSM there is stigma.

 

Its hard but try and let this go, the more I see of tumblr etc the more I think alot of people are using it to live in their own little bubble. If this had been a real life situation she wouldnt have dared speak like this. Unfortunately a lot of people online become highly cocky and bullying behind a keyboard and in reality they wont say boo.

Sounds like she has little knowledge or respect.

I know it cut you deeply and I pray you find peace with it.

 

In my experience, there will always be those that will be against anything you do. They can vehemently say and do things that hurt you. Realize you have all the power in these situations.

 

Your real power is in how you let them effect you. If you choose to let it hurt you, it cut deep and will linger. If you choose not to (even though it can be very hard sometimes but possible with mental discipline) it will just another experience in life.

 

I wish I undertook this concept much earlier in life. I would not have had nearly the stress I put myself through.

I'm sorry to hear you were treated like that!

The problem with all social media sites, especially tumblr is that there are going to be closed minded people who essentially try to bully other users for having alternate beliefs, sexual orientation, interests, hobbies and kinks ect..

I really thought you dealt with the situation well, many people reply to pure ignorance with even more bullying and ignorance, but you did the opposite and killed the subject blog owner with kindness, so to speak.

That's the first time I've legitimately seen hate of DDlg. It's a shame, because I think the hatred comes from not understanding -- except sometimes, people just don't WANT to understand. They want to be outraged.

 

I'm sorry that happened. Remember that you are the better human being, regardless of what anyone says, because of your compassion and rationality towards someone who could be so hateful in return.

This is sadly really common because people don't understand the difference between ABDL, DDlg and Daddy Kink.... Education is important if you go into anything BDSM and everyone is allowed to do their own thing. Sadly it's common in the Lolita communities that DD/lg is looked down upon because of all the perverts that harass the Lolitas. The reason this forum wasn't made to be CG/L instead of DD/lg (CG/L being caregiver/little for gender neutral reasoning) is because CG/L is a large lolita forum already and at any given time you talk about DD/lg or ABDL, things like that happen. We are trying to break the stereotypes that DD/lg is encouraging pedophilia because that's exactly what it's not and why we don't allow people who are underage into the community. Tumblr will always have hate and misinformation about these topics. There is always some vanilla out there with boring sex and bad partners that feel they have the right to judge others because they aren't into it and have bad relationships. From what I've seen, a lot of DD/lg relationships are the healthiest compared to some vanilla I've seen. Albeit there are still bad people out there and a lot of littles just need help finding the right daddies and vice versa. 

 

So don't let this stuff bother you. It hurts I know, but that's also why they have block buttons.
