Yes, I like the smell and the weight of a real book, too. And I like the sound when I turn the page. =)

For everyone who likes fantasy books, you should read "The Elven" from Bernhard Hennen. It's finally translated from german to english. =)

Hi five anna_4dd. Although I do absolutely love hard copies, I do stick with my kindle because I travel around and I'm never in one place for too long and so its very hard to carry around books. But the day I settle, I'll have start collecting. Don't make me start listing my favourite books because I'll end up listing all of the books I read :D  :p , but here are some of them:

Private Peaceful by Michael Morpurgo

Face by Benjamin Zephaniah

Noughts and Crosses by Malorie Blackman (The whole series)

The Grace of Kings by Ken Liu

Being and Nothingness, by Jean-Paul Sartre

The Earth Hums in B Flat - Mari Straychan

Any of you guys like audiobooks? I've become addicted to them myself as it's the only way I can read and work at the same time.  :p

What are the Lunar Chronicles about, Bean? (If you say "the moon", I will poke you.) I've never heard of them. I've never started an account on goodreads, though I have popped over there to look up info on occasion.

The Lunar Chronicles are fairy tale retellings . There's Cinder, Scarlet, Cress, Fairest, and Winter.

I like audiobooks.

I love books so much! I'm going to start my little paragraph here by asking if any of you have heard of or use goodreads? I love that site. I see alot of you like harry potter and lord of the rings. Two series I never got into so I decided to share my favorites and tell you about them.

My all time favorite series (do not recomend reading in little space and can be triggering) is the In Death series by J.D. Robb. This series is about Eve Dallas who as a child was raped by her father before she killed him she is now one of the leading officials in the Nypd Homocide unit. I love this series because you get to love Eve then they bring in more fun people like her dreamy Irish husband Roake who doesn't play by any rules/laws. Or her best friend Mavis who always has some wild hair color. Oh and when they bring Trina in she's like a hair makeup person Eve is terrified of her! Oh and I've read this series through over 20 times. haha

Ummm.... so other series I like are:

1. The Percy Jackson series by RIck Riordan - I'm just going to assume you know about this series because I don't know anyone who doesn't.

2. The Maximum Ride series by James Patterson - Max and her friends are experiments that are trying to stay alive and of course save the world at the same time.

3. The sister grimm series by Michael Buckley - If you love all the fairytales you know the pied piper, the three pigs, ariel? You will more than likely love this series.

4. The Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich - Who doesn't enjoy a book we're to guys fight over one girl. Plus said girl is always destroying her vehicles or blowing up funeral homes... don't ask.

5. The House of Night series by P.C and Kristen Cast - Warning this series made me cry but it's definitely not your regular vampire stories.

6. About any book by Nora Roberts. I love every single one that I've read.

I think I'll stop there cause honestly I could just go on and on and on. Between my mom and I we own like 200 books. Plus we're still getting more. Umm if you want more info about any of these series or just talk don't be afraid to message me. I won't bite unless you do :) hehe

I'm a pretty hardcore reader (and aspiring writer) myself. I read mostly sci fi,fantasy, and horror, but also the occasional classics, contemporary literary fiction, humor, and non-fiction (history, science, biography, politics, current events). Between books, ebooks, and audiobooks, I probably read upwards of 60 books a year.

Favorite authors include: Neil Gaiman, George RR Martin, China Mieville, Stephen King, Laird Barron, Margaret Atwood, Dan Simmons, Joe Abercrombie.

Favorite books include: A Song of Ice and Fire, Cosmos, Moby Dick, The Stand, American Gods, Hyperion.

I stumbled into a great convo about sci fi books in the chat room here the other night. I need to get in there more often!

I can't list my favourite books because gosh darn there's too many of em, but how about my favourite authors. If any of you choose to read a book from any of these authors, you won't be disappointed, assuming you like said genre to begin with.

  • Terence Strong
  • Robert Ludlum
  • Jane Casey
