BunBunBubbles Posted March 21, 2016 Report Posted March 21, 2016 Hello everyone. I'm a little with mulitple disabilities. I'm wondering if there are other littles with disabilities out there. I'm sort of afaird to think that I'm not getting any real interest because I have disclosed that I have a disability on my profile. I don't want to be afaird of my state or hide it because it is part of who I am. I have fully accepted who I am as a person and my disability does not define who I am as a whole person. Its just one part of who I am. Any suggestions or comments. Just feeling kind of lonely. Thanks. Love and hugs everyone. 1
littleprincess94 Posted March 23, 2016 Report Posted March 23, 2016 Oh Hi! Yes me! I am autistic, as well as having comorbid anxiety and ADHD. I also have PTSD from past trauma and a whole host of health issues. I can't walk very well sometimes and my lungs are not very good at their job, I also have a service dog. I am not sure if the lack of interest is because you posted it publicly. Personally, I don't explain completely right away bc on paper when you put all of it together it sounds like I should be super dysfunctional. However, I'm not, I go to university, I travel pretty extensively, work with special needs children, and have a lovely fulfilling social life. I don't want anyone to judge me based on my disabilities so I wait until they get to know ME better as a person. However, because of my dog, I do have to tell people something so I just say I have anxiety. Maybe if you wanted to put it on your profile make a general statement about your disability and the sort of supports you use. I find something that is really important in relationships is the other person knowing that despite all of your challenges you are working towards health, so to pair disclosure of disability with assurance that you are being proactive. (for example, I know it makes my Daddy feel a lot better to know that I have dog, take my medicine, go to therapy, and see my medical doctor regularly.) Sorry if this was a bit rambly! Please feel free to add me as a friend if you would like to chat more about this. 3
BunBunBubbles Posted March 24, 2016 Author Report Posted March 24, 2016 Thanks, I will try that. I think I will message you.
beingthesubme Posted March 24, 2016 Report Posted March 24, 2016 Hi there. I'm a little with disabilities, mental and physical. They are kind of identifying and I am uncomfortable sharing more publically. I would love to PM sometime and chat about all that disability stuff if you want. Feel free to add me (same goes for the other two who posted before me). I would definitely say be true to who you are. Yes it may be harder to find someone but they will want you for all of you...not just the fun parts. Good luck! There is someone perfect for you.
Guest Thomas Posted March 25, 2016 Report Posted March 25, 2016 Sorry to hear you're feeling lonely. I'm not disabled myself, but I would hope that this is the kind of community that would be accepting of everyone, regardless of disability. There are a lot of really great people here, it just takes time to get to know a whole bunch of new people. I surely hope nobody's put off talking to you because you're disabled, but if they are, you don't want to be talking to judgmental people like that anyway! Definitely agree with what's been said about staying true to yourself and not trying to conceal something just because of what other people might think. You're doing great.
Beau-Bear Posted March 26, 2016 Report Posted March 26, 2016 I'm paralysed and I had no trouble finding parents or anything like that. Sure its a little harder to do special things together but my favourite thing to do is make a stuffy pile and let daddy throw you in! 1
BunBunBubbles Posted March 27, 2016 Author Report Posted March 27, 2016 Thank you everyone for your kind words. This is really starting to make me feel better. Maybe we should start some kind of group.

A&Ω Posted May 16, 2016 Report Posted May 16, 2016 You are all ENabled. You enable others to appreciate your inner beauty. You enable others to take stock of their lives. You enable each other to care and be cared for in a beautiful way. You enable love to shine, regardless of appearances. You enable yourself to learn to your soul, truly who you are. You enable a man like me to appreciate you in all your glory and learn from you. This DISABLE is for those who want to stay in their pain. Enable the world. That is what you are here for. Have an enabling day!
