New Bedtime Story - The Tale of Ginger and Pickles

Recommended Posts

Hello again everyone :)

I have a new bedtime story reading for you all. This one is a bit longer! It's "The Tale of Ginger and Pickles" by Beatrix Potter, and you can find it here:

https://soundcloud.com/wolfsbedtimestories/the-tale-of-ginger-and-pickles

This is recorded with a much better mike than my iphone from last time.

Thanks Princess Diana for adding the last one to the lovely list of tales here: https://www.ddlgforum.com/topic/7187-huge-list-of-online-bedtime-stories-w-links/

Now I have a couple of things to ask of you:

1. Did you like this? Any feedback or suggestions?

2. Is there anything you would like me to add to things to read?

But mostly I am worried about the next question:

3. Is it going to get to be a bit much if I make one post like this a week?

I'm a bit concerned about that, as I would like to make this a weekly thing (and maybe spin a podcast from it - I got some deeply touching messages about this helping some people who were feeling lonely etc), but I don't want to flood the forum. I've posted waaaay too much in the last week already (which was mostly my excitement at finding this place). I feel it is a rude guest who joins a party late and speaks too loudly. So I would really like to hear if this is going to be an unwelcome addition here. Mods - please feel free to message me too.

Other than that I hope you enjoy!

I can't answer #s 1 and 2 yet as I haven't listened to it yet (but will later!), but for #3 I think I'm not going to be alone in saying that making this a weekly thing would be lovely!  There are a lot of littles out there without CGs that will enjoy these, and the more variety the better!  Even those littles -with- CGs might find these useful too for nights maybe they're up later than their CG and can't fall asleep.  So, please please do as many of these as you like.  At least, that's how I feel about it =).

You do a wonderful job reading the stories! I really enjoyed both stories so far. Yes, please continue to make more of them. It would definitely be something I would look forward to each week  :D

In response to question #2, I would be so so happy if you were to do a reading of Wynken, Blynken, and Nod by Eugene Field. I have treasured that book for many years. That has been my go-to story/poem when I have trouble falling asleep; for as long as I can remember.

#1 Everyone loves bedtime stories! So YESSSSSS!!

#2 'Princess and the Pea' would be great!

#3 Its great that you're active in the community and as you said it helps other littles which is a lovely plus. I don't think anyone minds at all. If anything its wonderful how helpful you are! So please continue!!! :D

Would love more of these. for those of us without Daddies its nice to have a story to go to sleep to. It's great that you've helped so many this week

Diana, that's a very sensible suggestion. I probably ought to have thought of that!

Wynken, Blynken, and Nod Is now on the to-do list! :)

And thank you so much everyone else for the comments. I'm feeling kinda mushy. It's deeply rewarding to get such nice feedback from y'all. Without a little I confess I get a bit lonely too at times, so I appreciate the energy. #overshare

Ahh, Wolf! Superb offering, chap. Story time is something both daddies and littles look forward to!

I love the idea of regular instalments (your work and social schedule permitting, of course). I wonder if something slightly longer might also be considered at some point? A chapter each week, perhaps? Maybe not something very long.

Podcast sounds like a wonderful idea, too, either alone or as a collaborative forum effort.

Thanks mate! You have read my mind. I really want to do The Little Prince as a few-part series. And I'm in the process of setting the sound cloud stuff up so I can register it with iTunes as a podcast :)

I enjoyed the story very much (4 times over). Adding a story once a week would be perfect. Would it be too much for you to update your op, date or number each entry then just change the subject/title for the newest addition.

The Little Prince, Chapter 22.

Amazing adventure on the desert with a guy which felt with his flying machine

I just put that thing on computer's stereo

It was like music to my ears.

Helped creating a warm climate which helped me in writing.

Thank you for your stories wolfdaddy. I found this thread with your links yesterday when feeling especially low. Listened to your intro where you explain how you are speaking with intention and tgen listened to the end of The Little Prince because it was the first one listed. It was exactly what i needed. By just listening it soothed my heart and calmed me down. im definitely interested in more stories and am looking forward to listening at bedtime. Thank you for taking the time to make these. Little hugs for you.
