pyonchi Posted February 7, 2016 Report Posted February 7, 2016 I ordered an adorable full kitten gear last September, and it got shipped a bit more than a month after I should've received it. I was just glad I could finally have it in seven to ten weeks ! But then, I noticed that I selected the wrong address ( with my own zip code, for some reason '-' ) when I ordered it, so it'll be sent back to the sender. I don't have a tracking number for it, so chances are I'm not gonna get it anytime soon. I was extremely sad since it was a birthday gift from Master. So I decided to make my own kitten ears ! I tried to sew both of the different fur together at first, but the result wasn't really what I was looking for, so I tried hot glue! c: It worked like a charm, but I spilled too much on one side of the fabric, and so I couldn't get the wire to reach the tip of the ear :c which is why it looks a bit floppy ( it's still adorable and very soft though ! <3 ) Then I made the second one by using hot glue right away. I glued the wire directly onto the beige fur, added one last bit of glue to the short/white fabric, and put it together. It was kind of tricky but the result is amazing! <3 I gave them a nice "3D" effect, added a bit of pink and red to their inner fur with crayolas and that was it~ The bell was already sewed onto the white fur ( I had to cut up my $3 kitten tail from eBay, which had the said bell sewn onto it already -- totally worth it :3 ), and I added a cute lace bracelet I bought from a con artist to the left ear-- it clamps on it, so I can take it off without any issues! c: I cut some fur off the edges, shaped them and glued them to a headband. It feels so good to wear your own gear! It's not as complicated as it seems, give it a try~ <3 4
LittleGlenn Posted February 7, 2016 Report Posted February 7, 2016 Such a good job! the ears look so cute . What did you use to attach them to your hair? I have a pair of kitty ears and a tail from ebay. the tail is kinda ''meh'' quality'' but the ears are alright. They use clips to attach them your hair, took me quite a few tries to get it right since I had never use clips before.

Aww thank you so much ! <3 I glued them to an old headband c: Aah right, I had the same gear~ I had to cut up the tail's fur to make those ears though... R.I.P. Clips can be tricky, I understand what you mean ! > ^ < and they fall off so easily ugh
LittleGlenn Posted February 7, 2016 Report Posted February 7, 2016 omg yes, they kept falling/sliding off,a headband sounds like a way better option! Maybe I'll glue them onto one =^..^= 1
DaddysLolita Posted February 7, 2016 Report Posted February 7, 2016 Those look really cute! I know a trick for sewing that may give them the ability to stand, similar to your 3d effect that I use for my unicorn ears! Although...I'm not entirely sure how you'd go about attaching them to a headband since mine are attached to a hoodie. If you're interested I'll surely share! Great job! <3
LittleMeredith Posted February 7, 2016 Report Posted February 7, 2016 Wow those look really good, altough where did you find the materials?

pyonchi Posted February 8, 2016 Author Report Posted February 8, 2016 Wow those look really good, altough where did you find the materials? I bought the beige fake fur at my local fabric store, which cost about $4 (CAD) for a yard. I cut the (inner) white fake fur off those cheap tail+ears+choker bundles you can find on eBay for like $3. And like I said the bell was already attached onto the tip of the eBay tail, so I just worked with the fabric as if the bell wasn't there. Thanks for asking c: <3
