Fix the PICTURES!!!

I am sure I’m not the only one, but I am extremely bothered that I cannot just load a normal sized photo onto the forum. Whether it be a profile picture, a coloring page sent in a message or a picture in my gallery album…

The limit is too small!!!

I crop and crop and crop and crop the picture is STILL too big to load.

Can our moderators fix this please?🙏🏼
I so badly want to load my engagement photos to share with the forum and I can’t crop it small enough to include myself, my little and her ring. It’s upsetting.

You can up load them to the gallery, that’s what I do

I do understand the frustration. But I also urge everyone to understand that running this place is a huge responsibility on time and money and that Shadow does most of which himself. Sometimes things arnt perfect but I am so greatful he has given us this place.

If you hit the plus button on the top right and hit new gallery image. You can then create your own album(s) to drop things. You can then comment on posts and hit the Other Media button and hit  insert existing attachment and it’ll take you to your gallleries. You can then upload all the pics you want and comment with them, too. If you need further assistance, let me know and I’ll drop screenshots for you! 🙂

I know how when I first joined it was frustrating with the pics. I even started trying to go to my old posts and delete pics I just straight dropped into comments to free up space. I was then shown the way to load the gallery….and now I have 3 albums and like 200+ photos to use as I wish and no more frustration with file size!! 😁

 Thanks y'all for the support and step by steps. I'll look into the possibility/feasibility of increasing the allowed size and see where we stand on storage.

 Firstly don't crop your images unless you just want to remove something, that takes away background and in my humble opinion diminishes the photos impact.

I do 96% of my forum stuff on pc because it makes life much easier, plus my layout has more on it to deal with and small screens suck. So I use ms paint and reduce the pic size, that way I lose none of the actual image.

On mobile according to elgoog you have several options:

To reduce picture size on your phone without cropping, like in MS Paint, you can use apps like Photo & Picture Resizer, Image Size app, Pixlr, or Instasize, which allow you to resize images while maintaining aspect ratio and reducing file size.

The current size limit I believe is 2mb which would be close to 1600 x 1200 pixels which is pretty good size and quality. Hopefully this helps someone with their resizing.

You don't have to crop, you just have to reduce the file size.

You do this by reducing the DPI of an image.

You can also use the interweb link below to resize files ...

I never said I was ungrateful. I’m sorry you saw things from that perspective. I more than appreciate this forum and I am so glad to be a part of it. This is a home away from home and a safe place for myself and my little to be able to be with others like ourselves. I work a ton, but I check this forum very regularly, it’s very important to me.

 

Thank you all for the input, I appreciate the help. I have had to crop some pictures even to fit in the gallery but now that I am aware that resizing apps are available, I will use one of those instead of cropping the picture. I’m kinda old😂😅 so I’m not up to date on those new cool apps that obviously make life easier. Special thanks to @shadowrider for the multiple options on how I can fix my own problem. I should’ve consulted elgoog myself, as I utilize that repetitively and for some reason didn’t think to try that first before posting about this.

And I’m sorry if I offended anyone.🥺😓 I was just looking for help. Oldtimer over here, not so tech savvy I guess.😥

Woah there, I never said you were ungreatful, ever. I wouldn't make assumptions like that on someone I didn't know. I pointed out something many would not know and then expressed my own gratitude for what he does. That was all. Glad to hear you now have some better options for posting your pictures.
