dani_stl Posted March 23 Report Posted March 23 hi, i write and illustrate children's stories. this is the first one i ever wrote, called Mr. Whys Guy. i can't really show the illustrations here so maybe you can picture it in your mind. One day, not long ago... A boy named Binx just wanted to know. Why is my cat covered in fur? And when I pet her, why does she purr? What makes the sun go up and down? Why don't kings really wear a crown? What makes yummy popcorn pop? Why do bunnies and kangaroos hop? How does the oven make things so hot? Why are some people strong, but others are not? What makes sugar taste so sweet? Why do we have ten toes on our feet? Why is opening envelopes so sticky? Why is tying my shoes so tricky? Why do birds get to fly, but we have to walk? What happens if teachers run out of chalk? Why is my favorite color yellow? Why do some clouds look like a marshmallow? Is the world really round? If so, are some people upside down? Why do I use my left hand when I write? Why is it that you use your right? Why does ice cream have to be so cold? Why does it take so long to get old? Why do I sometimes have to wait? Why is it so hard to draw a line straight? Why is the sky mostly blue... but can sometimes turn into other colors, too? He asked so many questions, he wore himself out. His mommy was tired by this time too, no doubt. She snuggled him up and tucked him into bed... Then told him not to worry his sweet, little head. "The answers will come to you in your dreams... though... In case they don't, we'll find the answers tomorrow. With that, Binx fell asleep so content; no longer worried about what everything meant. The end.
