I've never liked journaling for myself, but I know that it can work for other people. I always feel like my entries focused on the negative things in my life, but I'd rather have nightmares, than focus on daily negativity during my waking hours. Weekly therapy has definitely helped me more than journaling, imho. But I also understand that therapy sessions can take up a lot of time, so I get why journaling might be preferred. And you're right. Some trauma never goes away, but it does get easier to deal with over time- and that's why I think therapy is so important, it helps make the healing process go much smoother.

I also agree that using our pain can help others. Experienced pain can increase our empathy for another person's situation, for sure! Though, I admit it's a learned skill that requires a lot of patience and practice. If I don't work towards it, I find myself being overly cynical. And that's never a good thing. There needs to be a balance between the two. But me rambling about our inner Light vs Darkness, is for another day, lol.

You are an absolute glowing light around here and please don't ever think that you're somehow doing something bothersome by asking for a little something back when you need it. Anyone here should be honored to be asked to lend a hand, and if you need it, I'm around (even if next week is a bit patchy because of family stuff on my side).
