Hey guys!

Hope you're having a fantastic day ☺️. I had a question, and I wanted your take on something:

Lately, I've been getting my inspiration for my day to day clothes by googling outfits for toddlers and kindergarten age kids, and just adapting it for myself. My reasons for this are:

- when I regress, I do so to the age of 5-7, and I notice that the majority of little space clothes seem to be aimed at folks who regress to closer to infancy. I also I tend to feel like the styles are a bit too exaggerated for my comfort, especially because I don't delineate between my little space and daily wear, unless the situation calls for it .

- it's validating, to me, to base my wardrobe around clothes that an actual 6 year old might wear. It's pleasantly infantilizing, and leaves me feeling like a little kid who's parent found a cute fit on Pinterest, and wanted to make something like it for them.

And to me, that gives me anxiety. Like, I love creating cute fits for myself, and that's always been something that grounds me in little space, but a part of my mind fears it'll look like I'm trying to justify looking at pictures of youngins, ya know? Morality is very important to me, I don't want to do something unsafe, convey that I'm unsafe, and just overall I don't want to be a bad person.

So, I'm asking what you guy's opinion on this is because I tend to overthink and I'd like an outside perspective. Does it sound like I'm overthinking, or should I just find another method of fit-spiration? Hope you have a lovely day, and happy new year!

@GigglingRaspberry Adapting outfits based on your inspirations and taste is okay, many people do it for their own reasons. However, in my opinion, it's best to take a balanced, a bit of both looks, more like a hybrid approach while keeping the 'fit-spiration' and comfort in mind. Visiting your neighborhood department store's age-appropriate sections may give you some insight.

Your outfit inspiration by looking at actual kids' clothes is really normal among all kinds of littles! Lots of people look at kids' clothes to see ideas for more littlespace-y things. But I totally get you on being worried because then you're just... looking at kids, and brains (and society) love to make connections that don't exist. Here's my advice:

- you remember that app polyvore? it had "flat lay" outfits, aka clothes with no people. Try looking up flatlays, or "kids clothes polyvore", then you have more options, AND get accessory ideas too!

- look at the kids clothing on regular websites like OldNavy. Some of them just show the shirt, not on a model. This might not be as helpful, but you can study elements - do I like outfits that contain graphic shirts? Frilly dresses? Leggings with designs? etc!

- I'm not on that side of youtube because I'm not a parent nor do I want kids, but I'm sure there exists some mom/dad youtuber who likes to show off what clothes they bought their kids, and I know a good chunk of parent youtubers refuse to show their kid. You could watch them for inspo!

- find Mommy and Me outfits! then, you know it comes in adult sizes, it's still little-ish, and it could feel a little less weird! I know these usually come in outfits for kids younger than your little age, but matching outfits exist across all ages. Honestly when I want middlespace outfit inspo, I look up a Disney character's wardrobe or look up Disneybound outfits!

- honestly, coming from a person with terrible anxiety, you're probably overthinking. if I saw someone in public looking through Pinterest at kids outfits, I'd say "cool, they probably have a kid" and move on. I work at a place that offers computers to the general public, and trust me, I see a LOT weirder. I wouldn't even blink at your screen lol

- only you know your brain, but typically, people who worry about being unethical aren't actually being unethical.

I hope this helps, and you aren't alone! There's a lot of stigma and anxiety around being a Little, but we're a community together ❤️

Maybe if u want to combine daily and little space i guess it would be nice to start with prints and a bit more color. Maybe some cartoon prints or some clothes that would be colorful and bright.

also it’s good to add accessories. If u don’t want to stand out daily you can buy some funny hair clips or bracelets or maybe head-bands.

oh. Maybe fun print stockings or socks. Just to keep balanced

but also agree on idea looking at disney inspo

Thanks so much for your advice, you guys! After doing some thinking, I realized that what I'm feeling is anxiety because being little is still somewhat new, and a lot of what's normal to that experience is triggering to me. Like, on an intellectual level Ive known about infantilism since I was in college, but actually delving into it and experiencing what that is for me is a different ballgame haha.

Still feels weird just looking up kids clothes, even though I understand my thinking and intentions, so I'll probably not do that anymore lmao, but I have a better sense of what feels comfortable and suitably childish for me, so no loss ☺️.

I'll post some of the collages I've made and you guys can have a look-see 😊. I appreciate y'all again, hope you have a fantastic day ❤️😺🧸!!!

I love how you are creating outfits! Based on your description it sounds fullfilling and creative! Being an overthinker too, I think thats what you are experinecing. I would try to keep in mind morally you arent doing anything wrong, you are looking at cute outfits. And 9/10 usually its just outfit pieces on pintrest, rarley are there kids in the photos, at least from what I have seen.  I hope you post your collages! I love seeing peoples different styles! I created a Little printrest board and put all kinds of cute things in there, its fun and gives me great ideas!
