PrincessM_13 Posted December 19, 2024 Report Posted December 19, 2024 Hello all, Tomorrow is finally the day I’ll be flying out to meet my long distance daddy. I’m excited and nervous I probably won’t sleep tonight. Is there anything that I should keep in mind when meeting him that I might be forgetting? Or if anyone wants to share their story of meeting their long distance partner and how it went I’d love to read them. PS: several people know where I’m going, how long, what hotel, who I’m meeting, his name etc. for safety reasons. 1 1

PS: several people know where I’m going, how long, what hotel, who I’m meeting, his name etc. for safety reasons. @PrincessM_13 Meeting your long-distance Daddy for the first time is an exciting and meaningful moment. I'm really glad you've taken care of your own safety by informing some people about your plans—where you're going, how long you'll be there, which hotel you're staying at, and who you'll be meeting, including his name. Please make sure to stay in regular contact with at least one of those people each day. Here are some tips to make it a positive experience: 1. Be Yourself: Authenticity being the key, let him get to know the real you. 2. Dress Comfortably and Confidently: Wear something that makes you feel good and confident but is also appropriate for the setting. 3. Be Present and Engaged: Show genuine interest in what he is saying. Active listening (nodding, eye contact, and asking follow-up questions) can build a strong connection. 4. Keep the Conversation Balanced: Share about yourself, but also give him space to talk. Avoid dominating the conversation or being overly reserved. 5. Ask Open-Ended Questions: This encourages meaningful discussions and helps you learn more about his values, interests, and personality. 6. Mind Your Expectations: Keep an open mind. First impressions matter, but it’s okay if the meeting doesn’t feel perfect. Relationships grow over time. 7. Be Respectful and Kind: Small gestures, like thanking him for his time or being polite to waitstaff (if you’re at a café or restaurant), show your character. 8. Relax and Enjoy: Treat it as an opportunity to learn about him in real time. Best of luck! 1 1 1
