Bible Study Starting- The Bible Project

Hey all I have been wanting to start something worship in my own (churches are complicated for me) to go with my therapy and help heal.

I did some research and wanted something Approachable and on YouTube.  I settled on The Bible Project.

They go through the whole Bible in a short Approachable way. It is free to listen on YouTube so if anyone would like to join me feel free!!! I will just pist my thoughts and such here. Starting tonight with the first 7 minute lesson.

Okies!!! I cannot garuntee they will be highly studied or educated thpughts though hahahaha

Nothing wrong with that sometimes that’s the problem anyway we focus on one person’s studied professional opinion or thoughts on the matter and really with religion it’s more how we see it and understand it

Yeah and honestly i don't think he wants it to be overly complicated. So that anyone and everyone can access him in their own way.

I think the whole serpent and human disobedience and the conqences of what happened how it affected everyone has always fascinated me . I just let it play through

@PigtailPrincessI had thought a few days ago, that i really needed to start making more time for my bible reading and study time. I don't do YouTube, simply because it's a vice for me. I get caught up in it and then that's all i want to do, it's watch videos. Soooooo...

My round about way of asking you it you would not mind putting the Bible chapter and verse that comes up each time so that i can do it that way? If it's to much trouble, i completely understand. Noooooo worries! If you don't mind, and do list them, if you want, i can try and give my thoughts occasionally? I won't promise all the time i can do that, but I'll give it a go when i feel i can contribute. 😊

@JujuNot sure what exactly you mean? Sorry just confused. The videos I am watching to do some worship are called The Bible Project and they more explain the chapters as a whole than specifics i think? I am only one video in lol.

Honestly my brain plays some serioys tricks and has been trying to ness with my faith lately so I am just trying to double down so to speak and needed something not complicated or intense

The one I listened to covered genesis chapters one through five I think

Dirt? Yeah the first like 7 minute video covers the first bit of Genesis but it doesn't give any super specific scripture quotes it's more like an overview

@PigtailPrincessSorry about that! I confuse myself all of the time actually lol.  

I just meant, I don't watch YouTube. It takes to much time and when I get on to watch, I can't seem to get right back off. It's one of those things when you watch one, you gotta watch another... kinda like eating a potato chip.  Although, unfortunately, I don't stop eating those, I go back time and time again! *sighs*

In a nutshell, would you share the Bible topic you are watching that particular episode? And if possible, maybe we could all discuss it?

Yeah Juju I can try and do that though I can't garuntee it will all be super streamlined or inciteful. Just a regular bean looking to worship in a way that helps.

Ok I watched video 3 today (I watch on YouTube as there is a Playlist with them all in order!) And I had two takes.

First I loved that they kind of clarified the flooding of the earth. It wasn't wrath or anger from God over an imperfect creation. They describe it more as him wanting to save the w9nderfully good thing he had made in the world, creatures, and humans. He was trying to cleanse it, start over.

Second they describe Genesis as showing that humans wanted to decide for themselves what good and evil was rather than trusting God, and as a result death, destructi9n, and misery followed.

Feel free to share your thoughts too.

Yep just think Adam and Eve could have had any thing they wanted but one thing and they chose the forbidden fruit,   with a little help of course. But they chose that because every thing he provided was not enough.and us as people just keep repeating that mistake
