A Softer Time 2, The Next AgeRe- & CG/l-Themed Minecraft Experience!

And So It Begins

Littles, Caregivers, and everything in between - we're off! Welcome to the official launch of A Softer Time 2 (hereafter "AST2")! There's not much new to add, since we're still early in the development stages, so most of what's below will probably feel very familiar to long-time fans of the modpack.

Please note that AST2 is a living product; I'll be pushing out updates over time to tweak the configuration files and change the modlist. Updates will be posted in thread!

Introduction
AST2 is an 18+ modpack that aims to focus on providing the tools you need to enjoy a fully CG/l- or AgeRe-themed Minecraft experience. Minecraft as a game is already well-suited to play while regressing or when in little space, and with just a few tweaks you can experience a world built around supporting your interests and needs while you're in that headspace. My goal is to create a modpack that requires as little configuration as possible on the user's end to ensure that even those who regress to particularly younger ages can still enjoy it without having to worry about complex configuration files or knowing how to write code.

As mentioned above, AST2 is an 18+ only modpack. This website is not a space for minors, and neither is my work. While AST2 doesn't have any explicitly sexual elements, I am neither interested nor comfortable in supporting the underaged participating in these spaces. Please do not share this modpack off of this website except in private conversations (don't repost it anywhere), and do not share it with anyone who is not at least 18 years of age. Thank you for your understanding! ✌🏽️

FAQ
Some FAQ’s from around the Internet:

  • Why not just host AST2 directly on Curseforge?
Due to Microsoft/Mojang’s updated ToS with regards to mixing “Adult” themes with Minecraft, there was some question as to whether a modpack like this could even be officially hosted on Curseforge without incident. I decided it was simply easier - and safer - for all parties involved to simply sidestep the problem altogether. If at some point it is made clear that AST2 is welcome for Curseforge distribution, I may consider uploading it that way.

  • What do I need to install and play AST2?
  1. A legitimate copy of Minecraft. ACAB and all that, but I cannot offer support for issues you might encounter using a cracked or pirated copy of the game as I am unlikely to be able to replicate them.
  2. An internet connection to download the requisite files.
  3. AST2 is currently set up, and functions, through Curseforge. You’ll need the CF launcher installed.
  4. I would recommend no less than 6-8 gb’s of ram to play any modpack on a Windows machine, AST2 included.

  • What inspired you to mod Minecraft this way?
Honestly, this is my attempt to bring back something of the magic from a modpack I stumbled across last year that was also Ageplay/AgeRe-themed. Sadly, that modpack was for an older version of the game and hadn’t been updated in some time, and, while there’s nothing stopping anyone from launching that version to play it, it’s not a version of the game I spend most of my time playing. As an ageplayer and (predominantly) little myself, I was excited at the prospect of using Minecraft as a vessel for the community to craft shared worlds, stories, and experiences together.

  • Is there a Minecraft server where I can play this modpack with others?
Currently, no. I am toying with the idea of hosting one if enough interest for the modpack grows.

  • Is there any place, like a Discord server, where I can discuss this modpack with others?
Currently, there is no Discord server for AST2; as above, if enough interest in the modpack grows, I may consider starting one. In the meantime, if you would like to discuss the modpack and your experiences with it, or share your creations using it, please visit the original thread on DDLGforum!

Installation Instructions
The easiest way to install it is to use the CurseForge app/launcher, which will automate the actual work of installing the modpack for you.

  1. Download your preferred version of AST2 from this folder.
  2. Turn on the CurseForge app
  3. Navigate to your Minecraft page
  4. Navigate to "Create Custom Profile," in the upper-right hand corner
  5. Select the underlined "Import" option
  6. Navigate to wherever you downloaded the modpack, select it, and press "Open"

If you would prefer to install the modpack manually (or simply don't have the CurseForge app installed and are uninterested in using it), you should be able to simply unzip the download file, copy all the .jar files out of its mods folder and into your own, run the game once, and then copy all the config files out of AST2 and into your Minecraft installation. I make no guarantees that this will work, but in theory it should be pretty straightforward.

I only played minecraft on Xbox 360, so I scarcely doubt I can participate, but I wish you well in what you're making. It sounds cool, and I hope you get all the players ever.

Honestly, that is my biggest gripe about Bedrock vs Java - the lack of mod support, which locks out a ton of community content 😭 I own both versions on PC, since they released a PC version bedrock under "Minecraft For Windows," but I am obsessed with modding nearly every game I ever play, so I barely ever touch it lol

Thank you for your encouragement tho! 💖

Mod pack looks sweet and wholesome.

Have you considered adding any Gameplay Expanding Mods to the Mod pack?
simple ones, not complex big ones I mean( although wouldn't know any to recommend, am a bit out of the loop on MC)

That was actually the focus of the second update - Fun In the Sun - that I put out for the first version of the pack!  :3 Adding a bunch of hobbies and activities that littles and caregivers playing the pack could share together, especially if they set it up on a server lol

It's absolutely still a focus for the new version, although, as with all things when it comes to parity between MC editions, I'm more or less stuck waiting to see if certain mods update from 1.20.1 to 1.21.1 lol

I can hardly believe it's already been two months since my last update to his darling little project! :o actually meant to post this last night - but I was literally Dead Woman Walking and couldn't go more than ten minutes at a pop without passing out, by the time I thought about it lmfao As always, the link in the original post above will lead you to the download you need!

Tonight's update is particularly exciting because this officially marks the end of the AST2's alpha releases! All of the core elements of the modpack's first version that I've been waiting on have finally updated to 1.21.1. There isn't much of a full-on roadmap, at the moment, but my next goal is to use the pack's beta period to iron out the last of the kinks (heh) in the mods that I've already installed, as well as tweaking config files and setting up data packs as needed to maximize compatibility.

In the spirit of full disclosure, the following changelog may not bee 100% accurate.😅I've spent the last couple of months slowly tweaking the pack's modlist, without properly taking note of all the changes I made. I'm fairly certain that the following changelog is at least correct in the sense that these particular changes were made between alpha versions 2 and 3, but I'm not sure that they are the only changes that occurred lol

Mods Added:

  • Amendments
  • Embeddium
  • How We Sleep
  • Kiwi
  • Magic Vibe Decorations
  • Moa Decor: Cookery
  • Moa Decor: Electronics
  • Snow! Real Magic!
  • Supplementaries
  • Toni's Immersive Lanterns

Mods Removed:

  • HugMe
  • Player Animator
  • Sodium
  • Sodium Options API

Fixing changelog

Hi again lovelies! I'm actually just here to drop a quick note that I have a small update for the Alpha 3 release - I really wanted to get the Blindness Accessibility mod working, so I bit the bullet and also added Jade since it was screaming about undefined classes from the Jade mod despite not listing Jade as a prerequisite lol

In any event, it's "working" now, in the sense that Minecraft no longer CTD's when you try to load a world, but now I need to tweak the default config files bc it blares music notes at you constantly whenever you look at a block or an entity lmfao In any event, Alpha 3.5 is technically the newest (and theoretically actually last) version of the alpha release, and as far as changes go only includes the return of the Blindness Accessibility mod as well as the addition of Jade. The modlist above in OP will be edited to reflect these changes, as always.

Have fun!

Kind of an embarrassing update, but I realized earlier that I never actually uploaded the Alpha 3.5 version to the drive of downloads 😂

This oversight has been corrected, and you can now download the most recent version of the modpack 😊

Hi all!

So, uh, I know that I said that version 3.5 was going to be the last Alpha release that AST2 saw before I started releasing the beta updates, but I haven't had as much time or mental energy to devote to working out the changes necessary to get that far. As a gesture of goodwill, I offer you the Pathfinder Update (iykyk) - Alpha version 3.75! This brings the recommended minimum NeoForge version up to 21.1.94, and adds the following new mods (modlist in OP edited to reflect changes):

  • Choco Coin
  • HugMe
  • Moa Decor: Art
  • PlayerAnimator
  • Supplementaries Squared
