Aquasunkist Posted October 8, 2024 Report Posted October 8, 2024 I just lost my dog today. Daddy and I had her 14 years. Her name was LuLu Bell and just can't believe she is gone. 4
Liamo Posted October 8, 2024 Report Posted October 8, 2024 I am very sorry. Losing a pet is hard. It hurts just as much as a member of our families. You had her for 14 years. She had a good life. Just remember that. Also, times heal everything. It will get easier.
LunaLilac Posted October 8, 2024 Report Posted October 8, 2024 That pain hurts greatly, I know my pets are the only friends I've ever really had, and that they were the only ones who tried to listen or understand me. Losing someone like that hurts, but you will always carry them with you in life, and they'll look after you even now. In a sense while the pain is terrible, you only feel that way because they were dear to you, and you should celebrate that, that you had someone that close to you, and that you could be a part of their lives. Don't ever feel bad about feeling bad, but be happy you could experience those that are dear to you.
Chocodoll Posted October 8, 2024 Report Posted October 8, 2024 It hurts deep and it heals slow. I would recommend keepsakes. Like fur, pawprints, her favorite toy, any pictures of her you have. I lost my childhood dog to coyotes last year and immediately got him cremated and got a mold of his paws. It sucked so hard, but I also think allowing yourself permission to grieve as hard as you need to without it devouring your life also helps. I screamed an wailed and cried and kicked for a few days when the pain got too much and it got a little easier each time.
Kali Posted October 8, 2024 Report Posted October 8, 2024 (((Hugs))) I don't really do well with loss. When my Brody passed i was devastated. Creating some keepsakes helped me cope and gave me something to keep my mind busy. I made a floating crystal locket with a lock of his hair and tiny rainbow colored crystals. I also ordered a simple band on Etsy. It's stamped with wings, a paw print and his name. I've found it the most comforting and rarely take it off. I'm sorry for your loss. Know how much it hurts. (((Hugs)))
DaddyUpNorth Posted October 8, 2024 Report Posted October 8, 2024 Its never easy and the pain will be there for quite some time. But so will the love and time you two spent together, it'll never be erased as those events happened and are set in stone. I lost my Peanut last year, a chubby ginger cat i adopted and we had 8 years together. She was dubbed PeChonk as well as my Cat Wife. She was never without me and slept ontop of me every single night. Even now i still have moments I'm just overwhelmed missing her but those memories her and I created together will never fade away. She left a wonderful paw print on my heart that can never be taken from me.
Cebakes Posted October 9, 2024 Report Posted October 9, 2024 It crushes me when I have to put a dog to sleep. Never gets easier. Each one seems to be more difficult. They will be waiting for us at The Rainbow Bridge.
AdorableNancyDrew Posted October 12, 2024 Report Posted October 12, 2024 I AM SO VERY SORRY! 😢 That’s heartbreaking. I don’t really have any advice, I still miss my furry friend. Eventually, when the memories pop in your head they start making you smile again….instead of cry.
LeftyGuitar Posted October 12, 2024 Report Posted October 12, 2024 Sorry to hear that. I just recently lost a beloved pet as well. Its pretty hard, it gets a little easier with time. I can't wait until I cross the Rainbow Bridge.
Aquasunkist Posted October 17, 2024 Author Report Posted October 17, 2024 Thank you all for everything you wrote. It all helped
