hoping I didn't open up pandora's box here but I'm curious!

where do you fall on the political spectrum?

personally I'm more into leftist ideas.

this goes without saying, but let's keep things civil. :)

In a nutshell my preference is Right-Wing Nationalism and Absolute Monarchy, with a huge disgust towards National-Socialism.
the concept of Fascism intrigues me.

I respect everyone's political views idea's and motivations.
I will therefore not reply to personal attacks.

I voted for Obama... then several years later I chanted, "Four more years!"

To which Obama responded by saying, "I can't do that."

...I'm hoping that explains my pov good enough. But if not, I now stand with Kamala.

No hate to anybody on the opposite side, of course. xD;

Waving hi back!👋 And absolutely, i'm not hesitant to express my views and i think nobody should. I'm fortunate that the "Line" you are standing behind for me doesn't determine who i love or not love in life:)

My political alignments have varied wildly over the past decade from an unfortunate alt right phase in my late teens and early 20s as a disillusioned young man to the leftist I am today. I've maintained a level of hyper-awareness for many years, no doubt exacerbated by me being an AuDHDer, and it's interesting how I've swung from one extreme to the other. I don't pretend to be an expert on politics, economics, social justice, etc., but the status quo is very clearly not working with the polarised world we live in today. I've read some anarchist literature in recent years and it's an ideology I would love to see one day become mainstream, but I don't think it ever will in my lifetime or for many generations after, but it's a utopian idea to strive towards with baby steps.

I'd identify as an anarchist but that word seems to scare people away. 🤭 The ideas are definitely getting out there!

@Capri I absolutely am talking about American politics. Our system is a complete utter mess, but oh my lordy can it be extremely entertaining for foreigners to watch.

There simply isn't enough dumpster fires going around to explain just how badly ducked the American system really is.

I approve of any and all memes from both sides... I probably shouldn't given some of them, but memes be memeing.

Let's be real here... being "non bidenary",  is amazingly able to be used by both sides of the isle...

Despite my lefty opinions, I wasn't going to vote for him the second time. Not that I was going to vote for Trump... but that meme's original intention severely backfired.

I don't hate Biden, I think he did the best with what he had to work with, like most presidents before him.  But the second set of debates/talks showed he's slowing down mentally. So I'm glad he stepped down from the race and Kamala is running instead.

My political views are center-right to libertarian leaning. If you're not hurting anyone, not destroying private or public property, you should be able to do what you want. Although I do support some left-leaning ideas like UBI (Universal Basic Income) and being able to get healthcare when you need it without going bankrupt or massive debt.

Well well well. I would love to be a democrat but it is way too hard. You have to be a super human, always thinking of the rest of the world. Always giving everyone 100% of your money, always turning the other cheek once you get hit. It must be exhausting always having the high moral ground.

I am no republican either. In my opinion they are way way way too far left and liberals.

I am against democracy and would love for us to have a Roman Republic instead, were the senate elect a dictator for a specific period of time. If he does a good job, he is re-elected for another mandate. if he does a crappy job, he gets replaced.

So I am guessing I am truly a libertarian.

Let's Not <3

I was a bit hesitant to make this thread but curiosity killed the cat. it's such an important topic and yet has become a sort of taboo thing to talk about. Which is a bit funny since we're on a kink forum our entire existence is taboo. 🤣

Thankfully everyone is being respectful of eachother here! If anything escalates later the topic can be shut down, so why not?

I'm not even from the states so I'm just at the mercy of your policies,  But I worry about causing friction.

Politics doesn't necessarily mean American politics (though yea it is hard to escape it) just curious of people's political ideology in general. I doubt the entire forum will go up in flames due to having opposing views, but we'll see. I trust that we are all adults here.

Should I play with fire and make a topic about religion next? 😇

Religious threads are always fun to read! I've definitely been browbeaten in one before... I wasn't Left-Hand Pathing it good enough for them, lol. p:

I am an Anarcho-Communist.

Government and Capitalism will always reproduce each other if you leave just one of them.

When the two cooperate you will inevitably get either Fascism or Feudalism.

Only by eradicating ALL oppression can any of us be truly free.

@Capri, I'm loving the discussions/questions you post!  😂
I'd consider myself libertarian as well but lean more towards the conservative side with some liberal beliefs. I feel like most people fall somewhere in the middle if you take the time to talk with them! I wish our presidential elections allowed for long-form discussions where a moderator isn't cutting someone off to jump to the next question. I'd like to hear an organic conversation between the people I have to choose to vote between 😬

Living in Finland with free healthcare, Free schooling, Free living etc. we have so many overgrown safetynets that im automatically far left by most standards for not wanting to abolish those.

Having said that, were in an unsustainable situation like this cause human nature is lazy, abusive and greedy. There is such a thing as things being too good so I try to lean right for structure, discipline, accountability and quite frankly - common sense. Far Left ideas in Finnish standards would shut down industry, abolish our culture and bankrupt the country in one generation.

By US standards I would push left with a bulldozer until health, living and education stopped being a business, but I doubt that will ever happen. Kamala 2024!
