What did you want to be when you grew up?

I thought I wanted to be a vet because I love animals but I could never put an animal to sleep so I switched to working with kids early on. I just wish I could bring a dog with me to work everyday

oooh! me, too!

I used to want to be a person who draws floorplans and deals with sprinklers and stuff- cause that's what my mom did. That's the one I remember the most for me as a kid. I don't think I ever truly cared about what I wanted to do for work.. I was very whimsical.

Then I wanted to be a veterinarian because I wanted to work with animals since I love them, but I realized I didn't want to do the medical side of it.. so then I thought I could work in a shelter but I couldn't find anything.. and eventually I asked myself what I wanted to do if it wasn't for the money because around me everyone always focused on the money.. I was always good with kids growing up. Playing with kids who were way younger than me and sort of taking on a protecting role. So then I decided to become a teacher. And that's been really nice. I get to do all the fun things I like and it's actively being rewarded. ^-^

Yes exactly!!! And thatโ€™s so cute about your mom. My friend (who is also a teacher) works at a school with a therapy dog and he spends like all day in her room and Iโ€™m jealous af

I know who Grizzly Adams is and who Evel Knievel is. Motorcycles are cool and so is racing. I wanted a hockey player at one point. I've mostly always wanted to be a game developer/computer programming. I've been programming since my teens. Then in my mid teens I wanted to be a musician. I play guitar, though I learned how to later. Right now, I mostly work with computers. Also, having a pet grizzly bear would be awesome!

I wanted to be a athlete,ย  i was the fastest in my school. In grade 6 they had me race against grade 8's and i won the 100, 200, 400 and 800 meter races all back to back.

So i wanted to eventually get into the Olympics and show my speed there, my favorite hero was the Flash.

But sadly fate had other ideas in mind and running wasn't it. I tried pursuing other areas of interest, teacher, accounting just brain stuff but fate butted its head in again.

Now I'm trying to write fantasy stories but life is abit chaotic but once I'm done settling down i will focus on it. I do write poetry and stories for my little girl as well as original nursery rhymes which she loves so its my main focus now.

oh cool!

Also I totally forgot to add that I also used to want to work with Disney Pixar. The way they express emotion and complexity.. and their visual and audio design like in their movies.. it's fantastic. And there's just so much purity in them sometimes and so much relate-ability. It was just really meaningful to me and still is. But I realized that that line of work is way too competitive for my liking UwU

I always just wanted to be rich ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ. Well rich is a bit of a strech... just not limited by money in my everyday life.ย

Growing up I was always the kid from the family that had the least. Don't get me wrong, we weren't dirt poor. We could live decently and there were many that were a lot worse off. But I couldn't afford most "luxuries" that my peers could. That built a subconscious ambition and I wanted to go for careers that are big earners.ย

People say money doesen' t buy happiness. No, it doesen't. But it helps avoid misfortune. A lack of money puts u in sittuations where you are left helpless. A lack of money limits what you can do. A lack of money makes you build debt real fast and dig urself into a hole u can't easily get out of. A lack of money makes you stress about every purcase.ย

That mentality and upbringing is probably why I hustle so much.

And the fact that instilled that hustle in you is a very good thingย

this is such a crazy question for me bc i never wanted to be anything! literally have never had a dream job until recently and i wouldnt even say its really a dream job its just something id be able to accept to do for the rest of my life which is to be a therapist/counselorย

.A classical dancer... ballet. Then a nurse and a teacher. A Psychologist.ย ย

My first dream job.... well, I wanted to be an "animal cop".... I wanted to go around breaking peoples knees and arresting them for hurting animalsย ๐ŸคชI had a great imagination as a preschooler lol. I held onto that from 3-8 or so and eventually had a talk with a real animal cruelty worker that informed me she did not, in fact, get to break anyone's knees.ย ๐Ÿคฃย That ruined it for me.

My next dream job was to be the bullied coffee fetching secretary for a hot boss lady and I can't describe how disappointed I was when I found out that wasn't a real job either๐Ÿคฃย I can't believe movie tropes lied to me.

When I was done being silly, I decided I wanted to be a novelist and to study anthropology. My brain surgeon Grandma told me there wasn't any money in it, so I just gave up dreaming. I went to college and started going for the medical field, but had a major panic attack

Spoiler

when we had to witness part of an autopsy

ย ๐Ÿ™ƒI quit and have never looked back.

These days I just dream of being a mom one dayย ๐Ÿ’šย of a happy home, a garden, and of never going hungry again. I don't need fancy titles or degrees, just a little piece of land to call my own and supportive people to spoil with my love.

If I could go back and redo anything, I would have become a meteorologist and studied climate change and severe weather. This is a field I was always deeply passionate about but I feel like I missed my chance there.

I always wanted to be a mom and grow my own fruits and veggies and raise animals and now Iโ€™m a mom to almost 3 kids and they are the best ever and planning to buy land with my partner and grow our own veggies and fruits and make a lot of our own food and have animalsย

I never had career aspirations, per se... but I always wanted to be a wizard when I grew up ๐Ÿ˜› I still do, to be honest! I've always wanted to have magic and create wonders and explore worlds unseen. To fly through the sky, or teleport across the world. To cast a spell and fix someone who's hurt. That dream never really went away! Actually, quite literally. I dream of being a wizard a looooot. At least once a week, often more frequently!

my first job aspiration was to be a computer programmer, i even wrote essays on it.... to this day i haven't written a single program ๐Ÿคฃย but i do have an interest in nuclear safety and osha guidelines today... you can say it's OCD but i care a lot about the safety of other people.
