Total lack of motivation "chores"

Recommended Posts

I know that pile of laundry is waiting for me, the bed ready to be made urgh don't even talk to me about getting the vacume out!!!!!

I just dont want to do me today......

I want the duvet to cuddle me like it has arms and heat roll over and pretend that it's not all waiting to be done.....

Anyone got any motivation in a bottle I could borrow 😅

I know this feeling. I for one hate washing dishes, but sometimes it's got to be done .... Maybe tomorrow then 😄

Maybe incentivising would help?

As NR_Daddy said above find an incentive.  Find something you really want to do, other than live under the duvet, and tell yourself you can't do that until you finish a chore.  You can break it into chunks too.  You can't do X until vacuuming is done.  You can't do Y until laundry pile #1 is done, and you can't do Z until laundry #2 is done.  It may take longer to get the chores done, but if you have all day or a long enough time you can get the chores done and reward yourself through the day.

Sounds like a day for Mary Poppins magic 😁 click fingers and it alls do its self. But if that nots work I finds having my music on loud and dancing as I do stuff helps 😆 make bubbles with dish soap while doing washing up... pretend hoover is microphone and be Freddie Mercury as you clean.....looks up clothes origami for laundry and try and too things like they do on cruise ships 🤣 in fact I plans to try and surprise my Daddy by making his shirts into something funny next time he works a night shift 🤭

I mean I don't WANT to live under the duvet but spending time there playing forts and colouring in books is so fun.

Cleaning is so boring and that colouring book won't colour itself 🤣🤣🤣

Playing in the fort and coloring is great fun, and I don't know anyone who really likes cleaning.  The coloring book isn't going anywhere by itself either and will be there when you're done cleaning.

Hmm see I thought of that already but Mr stuffie pants the elephant loves to colour and I'm worried I might come back and he has done it all....without me and then the fort might be ruined.

I mean that's a pretty big fort to have to remake....littles can't make mountains every day 🤣🤣🙈💁‍♀️

Well ..... I guess if I took the colouring book away til you have done your chores then that might be the motivation you need 😂

I could be cutesy but apparently thats done already so Ill give another actual tip :D

Make a to do list.
Take a break
Organize list in priority
Take a break
Focus on number one on the list. Do not multitask and dont stop until youre done with 1.
Take a break.
Number 2 and rince and repeat from here until you run out of daylight / time :).

Breaking chores down into singular jobs helps a ton, especially with people who have ADD or tendencies for it. This way chores arent chores but 1 chore followed by instant reward (break). Even if everything doesnt get done you still did smthing :). Then you continue the next day / next time you got free time.

It helps a lot to have a motivational reward for your little waiting once your chores are done.

See I'm so glads you know what I mean....if I left my fort Mr stuffie pants would try and colour all my pages and then he wouldn't stay in the lines and I'd come back to a mess. I mean someone has to watch him and make sure he is good. Hmmk think I might just stay in my fort a tinnie bit longer, might just take your advice.  Fanks

This whole thing makes me giggle. I thinks as littles chores are our worst enemy :( who wants to clean when you can plays or be lazy? :D However, I love how satisfying it feels to look around at a clean room and chores all done. Like so productive feelings *shy nods* However I definitely know what it's like to NEED a Big/CG to take your things away and make you do your big girl chores 😛.

It does feel good when you got it done

Well I managed to get the front room kitchen and bathroom deep cleaned so that's gotta count for something I suppose xxx

Every little bit counts and yes deep cleaning 3 rooms is definitely something to feel good about.
