rari Posted August 23, 2024 Report Posted August 23, 2024 Her voice was strained Barely above a whisper Her eyes, a bottomless pit filled with emotions The voices grow louder They drown out her logic Every word, every whisper Replays in her head She is haunted by the comments The hurtful words and the dirty looks Her thoughts collide with one another One action leading to another She takes a deep breath and tells herself ‘I deserve it’ Before her head collides with the wall Again and again and again Sharp pains shoot through her skull ‘I deserve it’ She whispers again Before she picked up the shiny item And began drawing on her skin Straight and precisely drawn The lines looked almost perfect Her skin, littered with scars All hidden beneath the bracelets that never leaves her wrist Concealed away from prying eyes. Crimson red, stains the cold white tiles Tears flow down her golden brown cheeks A sigh of relief escapes her lips As she turns her mental pain physical. 1 1 1
