MellyBoo19912015 Posted December 20, 2015 Report Posted December 20, 2015 Ok so I thought this could be a place where we put what we want to achieve creative wise over the next year. We can also post our progress and results over the year. Don't be afraid to say what you want to do, big or small. I will start. I want to try different mediums whilst colouring and try and work on my drawing. I'm a terrible drawer but maybe with practise I can become half decent. So what's your creative goal for this year?
SpinSpinSugar Posted December 20, 2015 Report Posted December 20, 2015 Produce a couple of paintings and get back into some exhibition spaces. I'm learning a new medium which I hope i can use even when I struggle with motor skills. Addendum: I working through the Artist's Way book, which may seem rather hackneyed nowadays, but at the time was revolutionary. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, and there are bits and pieces of it I side-eye, but for the most part I find it to be an incredibly good tool and I'm undoing a lot of damage done to my creative self. And of course, the whole idea of an 'inner artist child' appeal to me immensely!
Glitter Baby Posted December 20, 2015 Report Posted December 20, 2015 I want to get better with my sketching and get back into my work with oil pastels. I also want to try ceramics.
DaddysLolita Posted December 20, 2015 Report Posted December 20, 2015 I think this applies here... I'd like to finish my "Open when..." box that I started for Daddy. I really liked the idea of giving him something personal for when he needs different things, like "Open when you're sad" or "Open when you need to talk to me but I'm not available" etc. I plan to put the letters in a decorated photo storage box, make it personal with stickers and different scrap book papers attached to the box. I'm also working on different hardbound story books. <3 1
Little Miss Ambrosia Posted December 20, 2015 Report Posted December 20, 2015 I guess I want to get back into sculpting. It's something I dropped when school rolled back around and I'm really starting to miss it. It helps me relax and it's certainly a better activity than just staring at a screen. Same goes to writing I suppose, never been really good at it, but it is something I truly enjoy and it gets my imagination working Just doing any hobby that gets me even remotely happy is a goal.
Guest AllAboutYou Posted December 21, 2015 Report Posted December 21, 2015 I want to attempt a "365 project" (photography...I did 100 days a few years ago) And I want to actually make a time commitment to writing music...something I've never actually done before.
lilvioletcub Posted December 22, 2015 Report Posted December 22, 2015 Omgosh I have so much I want to do. Do a 365 days of art, I want to chrochet a teddy bear or two, I want to work more on revamping my characters, I want to make a 1 year little journal for my Alpha for next christmas, I want to work more on drawing back grounds, scences, colors, feelings, and have my pictures have omph yeah lots of projects
Spoons Posted December 24, 2015 Report Posted December 24, 2015 In the new year I really really hope I can finally get old projects that I've started done. I started knitting a squid plushie during the summer of this year and I really want him to be done. I also want to get better at painting since I love doing it a lot. I am excited though for January because I'm taking a bookbinding and digital art course at my college. I'll be learning new stuff and being creative at the same time!
MellyBoo19912015 Posted December 26, 2015 Author Report Posted December 26, 2015 Omg I'm jealous Spoons I woukd adore learning to book bind. Though maybe with how my hands can be its not a good idea lol. You all have such amazing goals and I hope I get to see some of the results over the year and get to see your progress. I think it would really help all of us to have a place like this to talk, even if it's just to moan how it's not going right lol.
Guest ~Spooky_Ghoul~ Posted December 26, 2015 Report Posted December 26, 2015 This year I'm determined to year to play guitar! I say it every year but I never do:( I would really like to also learn to sew and start drawing again! Its been so long since I've sketched, I'm in need of some serious practice
Okairi Posted December 26, 2015 Report Posted December 26, 2015 I have a lot of creative goals this year, hehe. I want to finish two books, which have been started and are halfway done, but have been all but abandoned. I also want to get back to drawing. I want to work on my coloring, since I get a lot of people who tell me my art is okay as long as I don't color it. >.< Um, what else? I want to learn to play at least two songs on piano, and I don't care which two, so long as there are some. I want to get back to learning to play the guitar. And lastly, I want to put some use into my drawing tablet.
StarEyed Posted December 27, 2015 Report Posted December 27, 2015 I want to get better at sketching and painting on photoshop. Maybe by the end of next year I'll be able to start getting a professional portfolio together that I can start selling online or at conventions.
Jmsplay Posted December 27, 2015 Report Posted December 27, 2015 Sounds boring I know, but I have a Computing project that I need to complete this year. I'm making a piece of software that will display MIDI files on an animated piano roll (much like this), but with some other extra features to do with revising musical theory. I have to write this piece of software in Python, and I have till the summer to do this. Perhaps I'm in too deep, who knows? StarEyed mentioned Photoshop, and I'd like to share something I made in it. Please note I didn't draw the anime character, but the rest of it took a good four hours to complete using my graphics tablet, and it's also my first attempt at doing something like this: http://i.imgur.com/H6K6HqS.png Maybe I'll start doing things like this again. IDK though, I don't have the patience. xD 1
Guest Charlie Posted January 1, 2016 Report Posted January 1, 2016 For this new year I want to draw more as i reaaalyy neglected my sketchbook in 2015. Also I want to get better at sfx makeup and prosthetic making, so I hope I'll have the opportunity to make something bigger than usual
Guest Daddy's☆treasure Posted January 4, 2016 Report Posted January 4, 2016 Heaps! I want to draw more (I'm not very good so I'd like to get better at it), do some painting again, do more baking, and I'd like to have a go at making something for Daddy. Not quite sure what yet... scrapbooks are something I could get into maybe, I need to pick up my guitars and get back into music and it's about time I wrote some more lyrics but my main project this year is actually to do some metal sand casting. I have wanted to maybe sell little things I make online and I like doing things with my hands so hopefully I can finally give it a try! 1
Luca Posted January 5, 2016 Report Posted January 5, 2016 I wanna turn more instruments into other instruments. I made a synthesizer out of a second hand electric organ last year and I'm considering making a Ubass this year. I'd also like to finally release the EP that I've been working on for like the past few months, turns out 20 minutes is a lot more music than you initially assume if you're dumb, which I am to be fair.
SugarPie Posted January 5, 2016 Report Posted January 5, 2016 I want to write at least one new short story a month, finish 30 Days of Kink and get through half of a script idea I've been working on.
Little_Smurf Posted January 15, 2016 Report Posted January 15, 2016 I want to learn to play the piano! I've always wanted to do so but it's very very expensive where I live, looks like this year I'll be able too though. I also want to get better at photography and finish a couple of writings I've started. And do more pocket letters cause they are so much fun. Yeah, I surely do have a lot planned this year.
LittleMiss Posted January 15, 2016 Report Posted January 15, 2016 I want to start writing again, color more and be more creative. It's all been blocked for so long though, I don't know if anything will come out. :/
lilvioletcub Posted January 15, 2016 Report Posted January 15, 2016 So update time I made 5 note books, I want to get better with making them and improve my tequinque I also have 14 days worth drawn even though that only comes to a handful of pictures 1
Guest LinnyLittle Posted January 16, 2016 Report Posted January 16, 2016 This year, I'd like to really get my Etsy shop up and running, and improve my sewing skills. I make collars, and I'm about to start learning how to make cat ear headbands, so I hope that turns out well. I'd also like to draw more! Here is a picture of one of the collars I recently made, this week. I just started learning to sew with the machine, so I'm a little proud of myself, hehe. http://i63.tinypic.com/rrutsg.jpg 3
rufflebutt Posted January 19, 2016 Report Posted January 19, 2016 I also want to get my etsy shop up and running. Or I should say, shops. A handmade soap shop and a polymer clay charm shop. Oh, and I also want to learn how to sew!!! 1

Guest Chandelier Posted January 26, 2016 Report Posted January 26, 2016 I have started drawing my own chibis and would like to continue so I get better! I also LOVE to take photos, so I need to put together a big collage of all my favorite 2015 memories <3
