AlleyKat Posted August 1, 2024 Report Posted August 1, 2024 Hi hi, I was wondering if you all had any favorite video games? Right now I am playing Lego Star Wars on PC or usually Sims. I am terrible at first person lol but they can still be really fun. Also how long do you usually play for? I like playing for about 4 hours if I can to relax and slip into more middle mode. 😄 3
Gentleman_Daddy Posted August 1, 2024 Report Posted August 1, 2024 My all time favourite games are the two Nier games (Replicant and Automata) and Bloodborne, all 3 of which had amazing stories in my opinion. I usually play JRPG's and I am currently playing Tokyo Xanadu X on the switch. I feel like modern gaming is just in a strange place, the last title that really grabbed me and had me playing obsessively was Elden Ring. How much time I have to play varies based on real life and work load but when a title really grabs me I can spend waaaaaaaaaay to much time on it. 1
LeftyGuitar Posted August 1, 2024 Report Posted August 1, 2024 (edited) I have all kinds of favorite video games. I've been playing since the NES (Original Nintendo Entertainment System) days. Some of my favorite games are Zelda, Mario, Sonic, Donkey Kong, Super Punch Out, GTA, Rock Band, Guitar Hero, Rocksmith, Ys, Dragon Quest, Blood, Wolfenstein 3D, Motorstorm, Yakuza/Like a Dragon. I could list a big wall o' text of games. Right now I'm alternating between games, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth and re-playing Zelda: Wind Waker. I found a place called RetroAchievements that adds achievements to old-school games, so that's fun too. I'm looking forward to Visions of Mana, Ys X: Nordics and Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D. Princ3ss-Baby-Bear Posted August 1, 2024 Report Posted August 1, 2024 Think mine are stardew valley, story of seasons pioneer of olive town and harvest moon window of anthos and light of hope, those are the ones I tend to play until the controller battery dies, sometimes I can really get into Pokémon (depends how often I loose) or Ring Fit pro is another one I can do for a while if really bored as like the boss battles! 2
Gentleman_Daddy Posted August 1, 2024 Report Posted August 1, 2024 Lefty has some good taste! Im looking forward to Metaphor RE:Fantazio but I am also confident that Atlus will release the royal gold extended vengence version a couple months after it drops so I am not sure if I will buy it 1
LeftyGuitar Posted August 1, 2024 Report Posted August 1, 2024 Oh I forgot to add Resident Evil and Dayonta USA are also some of my favorites as well. As I said previously, I could write a big wall o' text of games I like.

Nier is such a great series, but what surprises me is how unknown the series is. Like when the replicant remake came out I ended up having to explain to a lot of people that it wasn't a sequel, and Automata was like the sixth game in a series. It's such a unique series and every entry was something special in its own way. As for me, my favourite games of all time are Panzer Dragoon Saga, Secret of Mana, NiGHTS into Dreams, The World Ends With You, Skies of Arcadia Legends, Astal, Steambot Chronicles, Bomberman Second Attack, Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy 6, Illusion of Gaia, Tales of Symphonia, Gotcha Force, Dark Cloud 2. But I love all games it's the biggest passion of my life! 2
LeftyGuitar Posted August 1, 2024 Report Posted August 1, 2024 How could I forget Dark Cloud?! Its one of my favorite games of all time!
LunaLilac Posted August 1, 2024 Report Posted August 1, 2024 well the first one's QTES and oppressive thirst mechanics makes it a bit less stand out than DC2, or Rogue Galaxy, I'm just bitter they gutted Dark Cloud 3 for the abysmal White Knight Chronicles. 1
LeftyGuitar Posted August 1, 2024 Report Posted August 1, 2024 Well I like both, but I like DC more. Well Rogue Galaxy is good, I guess early in development, Rogue Galaxy started out as Dark Cloud 3. White Knight Chronicles wasn't so good. I guess the developer of Dark Cloud would like to go back to the game, but the IP is owned by both Level-5 and Sony, so Sony would also need to give the green-light on making another Dark Cloud 3, due to the way Copyright works.
LunaLilac Posted August 1, 2024 Report Posted August 1, 2024 Yeah it's a mess, shame too because DC2 was so good.
hunni3bunni3 Posted August 2, 2024 Report Posted August 2, 2024 I love playing Sims! I've also been playing a lot of Ark: Survival Evolved. I like building and taming the dinos to be my little pets. With any game, I play until my stubbornness gives in to my sleepiness. 1

EA with their fkin crazy DLC policy, its like 40,000 USD now for a full install of the game 2

Wafflechunks Posted August 13, 2024 Report Posted August 13, 2024 I used to be a hardcore Destiny 2 player. And I mean HARDCORE. I stopped over a year ago, but I played it so much it’s worth mentioning. I love Souls likes, beaten every one on Xbox multiple times. But no Bloodborne on Xbox 🥲. By far one of if not my favorite games was Hollow Knight. Definitely a bit hard, but it’s fantastic for an indie dev. And it’s free on Game Pass with all DLC’s. Rn I’m a bit burnt out on games though.
babydollmira Posted August 13, 2024 Report Posted August 13, 2024 Umm currently I haven’t been playing much but when I do it’s pc, like League of legends, but I also like over watch, stardew valley yeah that’s like my top 3 rn!
WolfMoon2024 Posted August 16, 2024 Report Posted August 16, 2024 Big fan of Civilization 5. I got bored of the victory conditions many years ago so instead I roleplay building an expansive empire (sometimes benevolent, sometimes the worst of imperialism) and exert cultural hegemony over all other empires. Does anyone else roleplay in the games they play?
Gentleman_Daddy Posted August 16, 2024 Report Posted August 16, 2024 Even though I mostly play JRPG's in some respects I found myself a bit bored of being the chosen one. I tend to prefer games with a more defined protaganist who has a back story and a tighter narrative at the moment.
