My name is the ancient gaelic word for light

It's a cultural thing. Long ago, people would insult those of French heritage by calling us frogs. However it's no longer an insult, since in Canada we call ourselves frogs. We have lawn decorations and home knickknacks of frogs. A guy I knew from France said they only consider "frog" an insult if someone from England calls them that. (He told me it made no sense, but that's how it is.)

 

My mother's ancestors were among the first French inhabitants of Canada, and my father's Irish family were originally Normans. So I'm frog on both sides.

I think I chose my username from an idea I guess I am lonely in life and daddy well I figured why the hell not. I usually run with a username that is kind of the odd ball ones half the time, I like the idea of that with my imagination running around in my mind.

Well, most people look at my name and go Pokemon! Not true actually, when I was young I misheard the chaarcter "Seifer" while playing Kingdom hearts 2. I heard "syther" luckily I loves pokeon so it's all chill

I suppose I felt that way when I created the account.

Mine was a smartbutt attempt at chickening out of joining the forum. I just put all my favorite colours in and was like "my usernames are never available the first time round so if this this things works I'm going to actually be active and try to find friends and a partner. But since they never work I won't have - IT WORKED MY HEART MY HEART MY LITTLE RANBOW HEART AHHHHH"

 

And then I was a member and the fates laughed at me.

Mine is a mixture of two things. My favorite band My Chemical Romance and DC Comics. I replaced Chemical with Krypton because it's an element of the periodic table and it falls in line with the concept of chemicals (though not quiet exactly).

Kairi, because it's my name. I chose it because it means Ocean in Japanese, and Melody in French and that just seems really nice to me. Plus, because it's the name of a character in Kingdom Hearts, it incorporates both my love of Disney and video games. Also it just sounds nice I think. The Kai part is also Japanese, and basically means rebirth. I'm trans, and Kairi is my female name so it just works out and sounds good together.

Mao is chinese for Cat and I love cats so it all works. Mao also can sound like a cat noise if you think about it.

Not a whole lot of thought there, but my identity as an Ohioan/Buckeye is pretty important to me. No matter where life takes me this will always be home!
