Questions about pacis

Lately I've been gathering interest in them and I have a few questions....

 

1. Do you use a paci?
2. If so, what prompted your use of a paci?
3. What does your paci do for you?
4. Have you conditioned your paci to be used for something? (Trigger little space, soothe/calm, help you sleep, sexual, etc)
5. What's your paci like, has it caused any pain or damage to your mouth? (I've seen where others have said to use a NUK 5 or bigger)

Lots of questions I know....any additional information is also welcome

I use a paci and have for several years. I've always been orally fixated and found out that I will grind my teeth and suck on my tongue in my sleep if I'm stressed out so getting a paci was a cheap way I could relieve that without having to get a special custom mouth guard. It also helps me sleep, I tend to have less nightmares when I fall asleep with a paci and it curbs my eating out of boredom as well. 

 

It causes some pain just behind my front teeth if I use it too often. I would like to get an adult paci at some time but right now I use the Ulubulu brand 18m + size

I use paci for oral fixation at first. Usually chewing gum but paci make me calmer and less grumpy and i sleep better with it.

i use it almost all the time when i'm alone cz i always unconsiously biting my nail or anything reachable. Paci help me to prevent that.

for now i'm using toddler size cz its hard to find adult size nipple in my town, even country. I want to buy them but still try to find the way.

Hai there! I should be studying but shhh, no one will know...

I use one on and off and decided to use one when I found I'd suck my thumb when anxious or getting little spacey. I'm pretty funny about hygiene and the like to decided to make the switch. It's a bit like taking a sedative haha, I struggle a lot with insomnia so have come up with a ritual to get me to bed and my binky is part of that. Self care is everything! I was always a very strange kid and am exactly the same as a little. Like I'd pet someone else or comfort them whenever it was something I actually really needed or do the same to my bears so offering my thumb was another thing, haha.

I researched a lot and figure NUK 5 up is just in general safer so am in the process of getting one and I'm not letting myself use any of the smaller ones just to be cautious, it's tough though t-t

Thank you for your answers! Have any of you found a specific brand that holds up longer over time? Also, majority of the adult or bigger pacis I've seen are pretty lackluster in the design department (all the cute pacis are to small!)

 

There a website called www.pacifiersrus.com that will take any paci and put a bigger adult size nipple thingy on it. I guess there are tutorials to do this yourself too so I might check into that if I find the others to small..

Here are some links to the ones I plan to get. I plan to just customise the plain pink one with stickers and that way it's more personal anyway and they seem to be the most reasonable out the list in terms of price. Others have just taken the shields and switched the nipple so I'm not sure if the first one would be the most solid? Regardless everyone seems to use the NUK brand, it's just the shield that differs. I'll let you know about the first one if you want in a couple weeks when I get it

I don't know about brand.

If you want the nipple stay longer, silicone is the one. But its tough and slippery.

If you want the nipple softer and flexible in your mouth, rubber is the one. But as it is softer, it breaks easily

Well, it was a mixture of curiosity, and wanting to be able to trigger little space better...

It calms me down, it helps me stay in little space, helps me fall asleep, and Daddy thinks its cute!!!

I haven't "conditioned it" yet, but I use it to calm me down and soothe me, and help me sleep and to trigger little space, but my little space is 1000000% not sexual, so no to the sexual one.

What's your paci like, has it caused any pain or damage to your mouth? (I've seen where others have said to use a NUK 5 or bigger)

I use a NUK 6-18 month paci, and at first it hurt my mouth, but after a little while, it didn't anymore. It hasn't caused any damage to my mouth, although I plan on getting a 18-24 month one soon

I just actually never grew out of them, my parents tried but I'd get more behind their backs

It's peaceful, relaxing. It's helps with my depression and anxiety. And stress.

Alot of mine are NUK binkies, but I don't have any adult ones. They are all for babies/toddlers. There was only about four or five years I didn't use a binkie and I don't have prombles. Sometimes with a new nipple it needs broken in but that's it.

My Daddy asked me if I'd be okay with trying to have one. I had never really thought about it before, but I liked the idea. So my Daddy bought me a paci and I've liked it right away ^^

It helps me feel more Little and it can comfort me.

Not really. It can sometimes helps me get into Little Space if I take it or if my Daddy give it to me. But most of the time it's the contrary, if I'm feeling Little and I'm at home, I'll usually want to get my paci. And I noticed it can sometimes help to calm me.
One of my fav moments to use my paci is when I watch cartoons or Little movies while cuddling my stuffies (and Daddy when He's at home <3).
I've tried keeping my paci while trying to fall asleep, but sometimes it bothers me and most of the nights I'd wake up because my paci was hurting me cause it got lost in the bed. So now I only keep it during naps. But I may try to keep it at night again, cause it sure is nice to have it while listening to my bedtime story, and it's fun to use my glow-in-the dark paci at night ^^

I have 10 pacis. Almost all of them are babies pacis (Nuk 3 or for other brands 18 months +). Those sizes seemed good for me at first, but I noticed that if I keep one in my mouth for too long, my teeth start hurting a bit. So my Daddy got me a Nuk 5, and with this one I haven't had any problem yet.

It's true it's harder to find cute adult pacis. And a lot of the cute ones found online are a lot more expensive than babies ones.
Yes there are tutorials online on how to modify pacis. I don't have the links of those we used, but I guess it's easy to find some tutorials by searching "modify adult paci" or similar terms. But it seems to be a bit difficult and you may damage the paci sometimes.
My Daddy modified my Nuk 5 paci himself. He used a Nuk 5 nipple and a cute baby Mam guard. So I was able to choose a cute paci and now my bigger paci is my fav one!

- Yes, I do use a paci! I had initially used it because my big friend got me one because he thought it would help, it soon became a way for me to calm down when things got rough.

- My first paci that I had about 2 years ago was a small one, standard baby size and I don't remember having any serious issues with it. However, now I have an adult size one from Aww So Cute. They only have solid colors, and a red sparkly one that I've had my eye on. But, they aren't the cute ones that you're hoping for. I wouldn't know about pain because I never use one for more than 20 or so minutes at a time. However the Aww So Cute ones are sized well for the average face/mouth and do hold up well to biting and stuff.

Wow! Thank you for all of your answers! I got some pacis yesterday, all 6 to 18 months. I have NUK and Ulubulu. I have to say that the NUK is more comfortable than the other, simply because the nipple is shaped differently. I also agree that after prolonged usage it hurts my teeth a bit.

I love my paci!!! It makes me feel cute and small, it's pretty much guaranteed to put me in little space.

I use the mushroom paci from Stimtastic!!! It's the perfect size for adults and you can wear it as a necklace, and it's discreet enough that I can wear it around. It's never caused me any pain other than some mild jaw soreness from chewing it too hard.

They are cute to look at...I get lost...

 

I've found that having one calms me down. I even keep one in my scrub pocket... (it has a shield so it doesn't get icky!)

 

I ordered one from ASC, sometimes the smaller ones hurt if I use it to long although I haven't had any problems with the NUK 18-36 month.

I use a paci cause it calms me down and stuff. And when I regress in age its like a lot easier to put it in my mouth to shut me up daddy says.

I use the NUK 6-18 but I'm gonna get the next size up soon I think. It caused a little pain at first but its okie now. I love using it :3

I know this topic is 6 months old but I just wanted to say that its extremely helpful for me because...I've been thinking about getting a paci...just to try out to see if I like it
