Star the Puppy Posted May 14, 2024 Report Posted May 14, 2024 Me and my mommy are staying with her family on the East Coast, far away from anything I've ever known before. In many ways, It's a dream come true, but in others... my quality of life has never been so low. Our room is barely big enough for a bed and dresser and our only income is doordash and It's been pretty pitiful out this way. Mommy found a job that would house us and be really good for her but it was too expensive for us to move in. It's seeming like we're just going to have to make do finding shitty jobs until we can scrape together some savings. I want to start over and be an adult but we're starting in such a deep hole it can be pretty depressing sometimes. I could really use a pep talk but I don't want to contact my friends bc I feel pathetic as shit. Has anyone ever been in a similar place and if so how did you get out? 1
Aikko Posted May 31, 2024 Report Posted May 31, 2024 I don’t have too much in the way of advice, but I am currently starting over as well. For me, it’s a complete life shift after a divorce. Going from homeowner with a dog and life in the ‘burbs back to a studio apartment in downtown by myself. It’s tough, but I know that it’s the best for my situation, so I guess I would say try to keep that in mind. If what y’all are doing together is for the best, make sure you both are there for each other and remind each other of this. You’re not in it alone, it’s tough and dark sometimes, but try to remember that even in darkness there’s stars. After rain there’s a rainbow. Clouds block the sun on days when it would otherwise scorch you. I guess I try to continue to find the silver lining in everything, no matter how bleak. Feel free to reach out if you need a friend. 2 2
