MissNMTX Posted April 30, 2024 Report Posted April 30, 2024 Ok, this chubby little princess potato has been going to the gym for awhile now. I like it, I feel like I'm doing something good for myself and sometimes I can tell results. I no longer am completely wiped out after a workout. And most of the time I'm just thirsty and have overcome being hungry after also. However, sometimes I get so hungry and then my choices and so bad! I legit want milkshakes sometime. Which of course defeats the purpose of all my hard work. I know it's best to always be prepared and I do have trail mixes and electrolyte waters, but sometimes I'm stumped. Please if you can, HELP. 1
Andriel_Isilien Posted May 1, 2024 Report Posted May 1, 2024 I like to make myself smoothies with protein powder, fruit (usually berries) and spinach (sneak in those greens) and half of a frozen banana. The trick is to have the banana be nice and ripe so that it's super sweet. The texture comes out like a milkshake, but the sugar is all from the fruits! Blend with your choice of milk (I prefer soy/almond). The protein powder I use comes in different flavors. If you need some healthy fats then put in some hemp seeds, chia seeds, or nut butter. Another sweet snack is nut butter with apple slices or banana. You can make it extra special by topping with cacao nibs, mini chocolate chips, or even sprinkles! For salty snack mix low-fat cottage cheese with salsa to dip tortilla chips (better yet, toast a whole corn tortilla yourself). Or you can mix in some ranch with cottage cheese to dip fresh veggies in (celery, carrots, broccoli) with a few crackers on the side. People like to mix the ranch with Greek yogurt but that makes it taste funny to me. Hummus with fresh veggies makes a great snack too! 1
