beanbean Posted April 24, 2024 Report Posted April 24, 2024 Live bait vs lures what do you guys prefer and what's your favorite lure? 1
beanbean Posted April 24, 2024 Author Report Posted April 24, 2024 I personally got in to the top water game last year and a top frog is my favorite or a popper
Juju Posted April 24, 2024 Report Posted April 24, 2024 It's been soooooo long since i went fishing! But, I pretty much was taught only about the worm and hook. My Dad used to use all that stuff. I've still got alot to learn. By top frog, do you mean a type of lure? Do i got points for knowing how to put my own worm on?
lillizzie24 Posted April 24, 2024 Report Posted April 24, 2024 live bait I have tried lures and never catch anything

shadowrider Posted April 25, 2024 Report Posted April 25, 2024 Depends on the water and my target. For bass I love top water lures like a tiny torpedo. There is something extra special about seeing a bass smash a bait on the surface. But plastic baits or live shiners/minnows are a good option. For bream and other panfish I like worms, crickets, or small plastic grubs or beetle spins. Lately I've been after catfish, alligator gar, and anything brackish/saltwater so I've been using what we call pogies ( I learned tonight the technical name is Atlantic Menhaden ) or cut bait or shrimp. And chicken legs for the crab nets. 1
beanbean Posted April 25, 2024 Author Report Posted April 25, 2024 Truly nothing like bass hitting a top water 1
