DDLG "Diet"?

To start, Content Warning for mentions of weight loss.

Hello everyone!

Many, many moons ago, I came across a DDLG Youtuber (who has long since deleted her channel) discuss her weight loss journey/fitness journey and how she was coinciding it with her DDLG/Littlespace lifestyle.

I thought it was the neatest thing, and kick myself for not remembering much about what she said. I was reminded of it as there is an ongoing discussion in another thread regarding exercising and making it littlespace-themed. So, I was thinking others might be interested in a thread regarding it! I know myself personally am trying to lose weight and be more active, and if it were little-themed, it would be so much more fun!!

SO, here's a few ideas of what a DDLG style fitness journey could look like:

- find a fun kids' exercise program or activity. You could do Disney Dance routines, hula hoop, pole dance, workout to Little music, or (like the girl in the video mentioned) you could jumprope!
- make sure to have plenty of fruits and veggies, but make the food cute in a bento box style
- put your daily water goal in a sippy or adult bottle
- keep track of your goals on a sticker chart
- try to switch out pop/soda with flavored water, sugar free Koolaid, light juice, or milk
- another thing the video mentioned that I'm not sure I would do myself was eat a kid's portion from the kid's menu when you eat out. sometimes that fills me up but you also wanna make sure you eat enough, you know?
- watch cartoons while you workout
- get Little-ified treats for hitting goals (new stuffie?)

These are just some things I had rolling around in my noggin. If anyone wants to share more ideas I would love it!

Love it! It’s not exactly little, but there’s a program called the Conqueror Challenges…it’s basically an app that contains a pre-mapped virtual race route. And there are TONS of them. They are themed based on exotic locations usually, but they do have Scooby Doo and Looney Toons ones!!! You just walk using your Fitbit to keep track of your steps and at the end of the day, it uploads your miles to the app and you get closer to the goal. Once you reach the finish line, they send you an AMAZIINNG medal!! It is a paid app, usually between 26-36$ for each race, but the quality of the medal is well worth it. It made exercise fun for me and I’ve lost 102lbs so far. 😻

Bring on the fruits ❤️ I love strawberries ❤️ This is actually a fun idea. I like the little thick plastic divider plates :) I feel like those could help with portion sizes.

I have paid attention to snack and meal plans parents have been talking about that are still kid friendly but healthier. Like those Mommy bloggers with recipes that get saved on Pinterest. There are ideas such as sneaking veggies into pasta sauces, cutting up fruit/veg into fun shapes, and whole foods. When I go to hang out with other littles in my community, I try to bring snacks that are more filling without being loaded with sodium and processed sugar. Example: cheese sticks with clementines, apple slices with peanut butter, baby carrot or celery with hummus. Having choices like these available are so helpful for me to keep my goals. It's more cost effective too. Crackers, cookies, and such are super yummy, but I always get hungry again quickly 😓

I love your ideas for making fitness more fun and DDLG-themed! It’s such a creative way to approach weight loss. I remember when I started my own fitness journey, I turned on some old cartoons while doing simple workouts—it really made the process enjoyable!

The bento box idea is fantastic; I’ve done that with my meals and it makes healthy eating feel like a treat. And yes, switching out soda for flavored water was a game-changer for me!

I’ve heard some people mention ways to buy steroids online to aid their fitness goals.

I've been on a weight loss and exercise journey for quite some time now. Some of these things seem fun. For me though, I like for my middle space to be free from "adult" things and weight loss and exercise are such an adult thing to me that I have to be conscious of and put thought into.

I'll follow this and see if I can find more ways to make this journey a bit more fun.

Oh what a wonderful idea. I read the title and thought: chicken nuggets lol

But this is a cool idea.

I'd like to add tho that even unhealthy foods have a place in the diet. Sometimes you need to eat for your soul and that will occasionally mean junk.

My Favorite diet advice I've come across came from a YouTuber nutritionist: add, don't subtract.

Within reason, of course. It's one thing to eat a portion of a chocolate bar with something healthy paired with it then it is to eat several bars and have like a celery stick and be like "add don't subtract!"

Her example was cheap ramen noodles paired with veggies, a protein source, and some good old fashioned soup base.

I can't remember her name ;.;

Love this idea! I've been trying to be more healthy but it's hard in littlespace. Simple kid's recipes seem to help 😊

I love to use my Wii fit and ring fit pro on the switch as can do both while watching cartoons 😍😍
Also swimming can be fun or walking through the sea on a beach

also don’t forget a little reward like a small packet of magic stars for meeting a small goal!
Plus I found removing sugary drinks all together especially Coca Cola helps loads in weight loss!
