@Little__Rosy

Thank you for sharing this festival calendar. I would appreciate it if you could provide some background history, religious significance, and social value of the upcoming event as it comes closer.

Additionally, it would be great to learn about how people celebrate it in India and how we can all enhance our enjoyment of it. Once again, thank you for this valuable contribution; we truly appreciate it. Keep up the good work!

I don't know about why we celebrate Maha shivratri..but people pray to Lord Shiva on this day and observe fast to please him. Lord Shiva is among many gods in whom Hindus believe..it is said he has 3 eyes and his third eye opens when he is really pissed off..and he has dance too..'tandav' i think it's called which he does when he is angry..

He drank poison..i don't seem to recollect the reason and it is said that river Ganga..(longest river in India if I am not wrong..) starts flowing from his hairs or something..i may be wrong..my mom told me these stories when I was little girl..so I don't recollect many of those..bt these were some of the facts that I recollect on top of my head....

Its also said that u married girls do fast for 16 Mondays or something to please him to get good life partner...😜 (Those fasts are different from one's done on Mahashivratri)

I try to do Mahashivratri fast .its only fast i do...
