LittleOceans Posted February 20, 2024 Report Posted February 20, 2024 Do you have a favorite deck? I have this dragon deck that I adore, but all my decks have a special place and purpose. Do you prefer oracle or tarot? I tend to be drawn to oracle decks more often. Do you always ask questions or do you leave it to generalizations? Very rarely do I ask for specifics, I leave it up to whomever I’m asking to tell me what they would like me to know. Anyone watch generalized readings on YouTube? I do 😁 Bye bye
bigkidagain Posted February 21, 2024 Report Posted February 21, 2024 I use to buy my own deck before someone told me that have to be given to you. I was trying to get a harry potter deck last year. And I seen some pretty good witchy theme one recently. I use to buy the Oracle book I always lend towards the tarot cards. I let the layout tell me thing or I ask a question

I let the layout tell me thing or I ask a question Huh, I haven't heard that before. I have always worked with decks that call to me. Granted, I have had decks given to me, but usually, I am just a middle person with those. I don't know how effective my opinion or advice is, but I say go with what works for you. Everyone can have an opinion, but there is no single way to practice one's faith. I presume you would know what's best for you and your energy, not someone else.
bigkidagain Posted February 24, 2024 Report Posted February 24, 2024 It's been awhile since I did palm reading or three card tarot reading. But since I'm moving I will have me a little area for that type of things
LittleOceans Posted February 26, 2024 Author Report Posted February 26, 2024 That's lovely! Big and little me enjoy anything that has to deal with the metaphysical.
PrincessCarmilla Posted July 6, 2024 Report Posted July 6, 2024 Do you have a favorite deck? Sort of. Each one is connected with a particular Goddess who guides me as well as a catch-all. But my Favorite is a deck long out of print called Magic Manga. It's gorgeous and I love the art style. It's not connected to anyone in particular though and I just love it for the artwork Do you prefer oracle or tarot? Tarot, oddly enough. I know Oracle decks are supposed to be as oracles but I find the strong character of each card in Tarot lends themselves to giving a good conversational gist that allows me to have a better connection with my Goddesses Do you always ask questions or do you leave it to generalizations? I've been told I use my decks kinda unconventionally. When I am called to use them, it's like a personal question and an answer period with a particular Goddess Anyone watch generalized readings on YouTube? Nah. Like I said, it's a really personal process for me. I've had one professional and was left... disappointed. Like I said, the way I use them isn't really conventional. They are means to commune and communicate with my Goddesses. I will say that my personal card that comes up is the Queen of Wands (ie, a stand-in for me) and that one of my Goddesses loves to use reversed Page of Cups to playfully insult me by calling me naive and immature
Freddy66seven Posted August 17, 2024 Report Posted August 17, 2024 Do you have a favorite deck? I am partial to the Thoth Deck, through Crowley made some changes to the traditional attributions that I find questionable. The deck and Book of Thoth are an incredible source of information on the Tarot, and Qabalah in general, though they are incredibly dense. There are color pics of the cards are in the book of which I am incl. a link to here: https://ia902209.us.archive.org/2/items/AleisterCrowleyTheBookOfThoth/Aleister Crowley - The book of Thoth.pdf Do you prefer oracle or tarot? Tarot. It is great for queries, but it is so much more than fortune telling. One can spend lifetimes studying it, and its study will take you into Alchemy, Astrology, Qabalah, Gnosticism, Neo-Platonism, and on and on... Do you always ask questions or do you leave it to generalizations? When I do a reading I almost always formulate a question. I usually pose the question as a: "What would be the result of ___________________?" And I will use a 10 card Celtic Cross spread, with a Significator Card. If I am doing a generalized, "What does the Universe want to tell me?" approach, I usually select just one card. Anyone watch generalized readings on YouTube? I have not, perhaps I should!

Don’t leave your Tarot journey in the hands of gift givers. Is my humble advice 😉
sophieR Posted November 1, 2024 Report Posted November 1, 2024 I recently bought my new deck but I haven't used it yet.. I've only ever used an angel deck my best friend gave me at 16. Prefer tarot but getting into oracle cards. I have the moonology oracle cards. My fav spread is the Celtic cross.. if anyone wants a reading, I'd be happy to practice with you. 😅
.คℓ𝐞メเᏰααα .ᐟ Posted Sunday at 06:39 PM Report Posted Sunday at 06:39 PM I love both oracle and tarot, but I seem to get a better understanding with oracle decks. It's not so much the tarot's fault though. I just get overwhelmed by wanting to memorize all of their meanings, but have the memory capabilites of a gold fish. My favorite oracle deck is Alice The Wonderland Oracle Deck. My cards are nice and big and actually have small explanation blurbs on them. The deck also came with an in depth book. So I really have that extra memory space restored, lol. 1

I think that is awesome!! I have encountered learning-focused decks before and they do make the interpretations easier. I have also found that the best Tarot Decks will rely on images and pictures to show you the meaning. In fact, the very first Tarot Deck used for divination (Tarot de Marseilles 1700's) had simple pictures an illiterate public could use. It became complicated as self-appointed gurus tried to create more mystery from them with complicated explanations. The basics are the best! For interpretations, go with what you see and feel. Tarot is an Art, and everyone interprets them differently, like a story. Just tell it like you see it and let the cards guide the next part of it. Have fun and enjoy it. I have also heard about the 'gift-giving' tarot rumor. It sounds nice, like waiting for the Universe to speak to you, but there's no truth in it. If a Tarot Deck calls to you - That is the Universe speaking! Just pick up the phone and answer the call.
