Thoughts on Jojifuku/cutecore little girl fashion style? 👧🎀

Not sure how many are in the Japanese fashion scene here but there is a controversial style called Jojifuku or little girl clothing. Some have also called it cutecore or kawaiicore. I watched a video about it and was wondering what are other littles thoughts on it?

Here's the video for more info:

Personally I think the style is super cute! but I wonder if it's okay to wear kids clothes out in public. Does an adult dressing childlike mean it's sexualizing children? I've been trying to understand this as a little myself.. I don't want my style choices to hurt anyone in any way or give them a bad idea. I'd love to hear opinions from fellow littles and others in the community feel free to comment as well!

Ummm I love it and um wish I could rock it. I...don't know the like say American West can handle it so well but maybe someday it will be just self expression like colored hair. Shein and I have a kawaii love affordable fair! On DD dates where more tolerated, usually people just smile. Where not, oh I barely get to do my cute overalls and piggytails:-(.       I would encourage knowing the environment you are in. The uh girl/boy factor is so often an easy soft spot to hit: wish different but encourage safe space and selves.         Oh but here? Share away. Outfit/life/hair. I understand the um sexualizing children concern and it's valid. My argument is that this is my happy and I don't harm anyone with it. I kinda uhhh think Nickelodeon and society vs. my outfits do the job of that. It's a daily pet peeve the girl is treated as dumb and the comfy sexy little clothes make me feel so good but invite so so much judgement when the environment isn't um friendly. I do sneak little stuff everywhere and strongly encourage adding that joy to allll littles life's out there. Put a lovie in the car and um....whatever underroos you want to care for youuuuurself in any environs. Be amazed at the confidence it brings!!

Thanks so much for your thoughts! I totally agree that if it makes you happy and isn't hurting anyone then there shouldn't be an issue! :)

Good point about being cautious of the environment too. "The public" isn't just one place and I forget that sometimes. Some environments are def more accepting and open than others for sure. Small little stuffs like a stuffie keychain or a cute hairtie are a nice pick me up 🎀

I think if you find kids clothes that fit and can be worked in with your regular stuff it's fine. I have done that. Makes me feel cute but it's not super obvi

I absolutely love this style and I honestly take a HUGE inspiration from Asian culture overall especially Japanese and Korean because lets be honest they're literally the best at being youthful and adorable 🥰

But actually dressing like this in public is a struggle sadly😔 you always have to worry about people judging you. Some people are really accepting and even compliment you especially kids, but others just look at you like you're crazy🥹🥲

I'm out right now and I wanted to wear my big pink bows in my hair 🎀🎀 but I'm SCARED. I don't want people to look at me like I'm a weirdo or like I'm trying to be something I'm not IDK

Replying to this months late sorry!

I've been thinking about the way we present ourselves to the world.  I think people will judge others regardless of what you wear, so why be afraid to wear things that make you happy?

As long as it is not obscene or inappropriate in a way that it would hurt or provoke others, this cute style is fine to wear publicly.  But people have different ideas of what is considered inappropriate so yeah.. can't satisfy everyone.  Let's wear pink bows fearlessly! 🎀

The style is adorbs and to me if someone sexualizes kids they're gonna do that regardless of what an adult is wearing coz to be frank adults who perv on kids don't give a toss about clothing they're power hungry and want to harm.

Adults dressing cute and having fun is healthy to me. Our "adult" world is devoid of life in many ways. If you're an adult and "serious" adults think your a weirdo then to me that says the "serious" adults are afraid to be authentic.

I say "serious" because an adult in a pink unicorn onesie can be more mature and adult than a snob in a business suit.

To be clear!!! I'm not bashing suite wearing adults, I'm saying clothes are only one part of someone's psyche. Sometimes people wear certain clothes to just put out a facade, while others wear what's comfortable to them, regardless if it's a blue tutu or a power suit.

People don't wear suites lmao I needed to correct that

I think this style is so so cute!! I don't know if I could personally pull it off but I love seeing photos and seeing people put outfits like these together. I don't think it is necessarily "wrong" for adults to buy children clothes especially if they fit. For me personally I can fit in a 12-14 year old pair of pants and you know sure well I am going to buy that pair of pants if I like them since they are cheaper and often better made then pants (or clothes in general) made for adults.

I think the people that have an issue with it are under the assumption that in order to like wearing children's clothes you must also like to sexualize kids, because why else would a normal functioning person want to dress in ribbons, bows, frilly skirts, and cute pastel tops, with your hair tied up into pigtails and ugh those chunky beads that literally every scene kid wore in the 2000s thrown upon your wrist. Just not something a totally normal person would do....right?

but I don' think that these people really see it for what it is... Fashion. It is subjective, but all fashion is. Can a statement be made? Yes of course clothes and fashion has always been used to make statements but I think we need to hear what statement is being made by the people who actually wear the fashion and not onlookers who just see "child clothes" and stop there.

I'm an American, but I adore Jfashion! <3

All of my crazy loud outfits and hairstyles are reminiscent of this. I look for adult pieces that mimic different styles or look childish at heart. But, I personally, would never deliberately buy actual children's clothing. I suppose it's more of a personal preference thing really. But I do know that I want my clothing to actually fit my body properly, and I just can't see how children's clothes could do this as I'm plus sized.

Socks and shoes on the other hand, yes! I'm wearing a pair of unicorn slippers right now~
