SymphonyStar Posted October 24, 2023 Report Posted October 24, 2023 Hello, I was wondering what everyone comfort meals when your sad was were? I really struggle with eating, especially when I'm feeling really strong emotions. My favorite meals are veggie soups, Mac and chees (especially pesto) and I love omelets but I can't make them so I can only get them when someone else makes them or I go out to eat >< 2 1 1
Guest CutiePieKye Posted October 24, 2023 Report Posted October 24, 2023 Oh goodness...😔 I feel you. I struggle to eat in general and so I end up "grazing" through out the day on small snacks. I try to make them healthy snacks so that it's not all junk food. As far as meals...soup is my thing for sure. Smoothies have been a great way for me to get something to eat without going out and without having to put too much effort in. I use mango, strawberries, banana, blueberries, spinach, honey and yogurt.
Andriel_Isilien Posted October 24, 2023 Report Posted October 24, 2023 Toast with peanut butter has been a long time favorite of mine. If I want something really sweet, then I make a smoothie with chocolate and frozen bananas. You know, Mac and Cheese is always a good meal 😋 1 1 1 1
BabyBrattyKittyKatty Posted October 24, 2023 Report Posted October 24, 2023 I make yogurt with fruits when I'm not cold! Always love a good savory soup. Chicken pot pie is cool if not dry >< Um. sweets? And over-easy fried eggs!! 🤩 1 1 1
Shaye.D.Ladybug Posted October 24, 2023 Report Posted October 24, 2023 (edited) 🌯Burritos/wraps/sandwiches of any kind -for a depression meal I LOVE Vegan mayonnaise on toast with tomatoes. It comes together in literally 1 minute depending on how fast I move. 🍲Raw tofu with sweet soy sauce 🍶Cucumber with either lime juice or sesame oil, garlic powder, soy sauce, and sugar 🍌Cocoa wheats/oats/ banana -I eat one or more of these for breakfast when I can't think/ I'm grossed out by food. 🍟Homemade French fries -It literally takes 3 steps and takes about 2-3 minutes per medium potato sliced thin (like BK or Mc D) Cut potatoes, soak in salt water (optional), fry, and EAT🤗 🍿POPCORN is so easy to make and endlessly customizable. I love adding sugar, coriander, and cinnamon or turmeric, garlic, and pepper for a savory flavor 🍛Curry with rice-do I have to say more? 🍜Ramen loaded with veggies 🍳Fried potatoes, tofurky fried like Canadian bacon, bread with melted cheese, fresh greens, and a tofu scramble and a coffee☕ ☕Coffee all day anyway even though I know it's bad🍵Tea too😋 but depending on the tea it helps with my bad days no matter what the issue is. 🍼Milky plain is my favorite, then chocolate, then strawberry. 🍗NUGGIES FOREVER I love spicy or regular or buffalo with any sauce or naked. I love nuggets😋 😀SMILEY FRIES!!!!!!!!!!!! Edited October 24, 2023 by Shaye.D.Ladybug 1 1 1
MissNMTX Posted October 24, 2023 Report Posted October 24, 2023 Usually sweets, but actual comfort foods are definitely carbs. Potatoes or Mac n' cheese. 2 1
LittleRamona Posted November 26, 2023 Report Posted November 26, 2023 Oh, I really love semolina pudding on milk 😊 totally recommend but you need to use oven so be careful 😁 1
littlespace_cadet Posted November 26, 2023 Report Posted November 26, 2023 So many good suggestions and foods on here! I love that so many of us love mac and cheese. It's my main comfort food. I'm also a big fan of oatmeal, especially in the winter. I'll add a bit of peanut butter and maple syrup to make it a bit more filling, or nuts, dried fruit, and honey. But mostly just peanut butter and maple syrup. Cereal also has curative powers for me. Cheerios, specifically. 1
MussoniKim Posted November 28, 2023 Report Posted November 28, 2023 Creamy pasta and meatballs or chicken sweet lemon flavour or bbq
Guest DarkFantasy Posted November 28, 2023 Report Posted November 28, 2023 Miso soup or Sicilian pasta
ScorpioLG Posted December 13, 2023 Report Posted December 13, 2023 My favorite is a good box of Kraft Mac and Cheese. I just feel so homey and cozy with the meal
Kali Posted December 13, 2023 Report Posted December 13, 2023 Mashed taters, mushroom gravy and ground beef... maybe some buttered corn mixed in. It was the dish my mom made us when we were little. We'd all eat at the coffee table in the living room and watch TV. 1
PowerPuffPrincess Posted January 17, 2024 Report Posted January 17, 2024 Oh gosh, I completely understand and have the same struggles. I don’t eat full meals but I do snack around a lot. - popcorn (lightly salted + buttered) - fruit cups - Yasso’s dark chocolate Greek yogurt bars (I don’t even like Greek yogurt but this changed my mind) - cookies n cream ice cream - siete’s dairy free nacho chips - chicken pot pie (this one feels like a big hug in a meal) - potato soup - beef sticks - and cheese-it’s
