Hi everyone and welcome to The Patch!

Feel free to introduce yourselves here. I'll start:

I'm Gemmy or Gem. I started this club because I love gardening and love talking about gardening. I hope you'll bear with me as I make adjustments to this page and (hopefully) our little corner of the forum grows. Current focus is getting the various pages up and running and post-in-able. If you have any concerns or questions, please don't be afraid to reach out to me directly.

Right now I am building up my collection of indoor plants, as the ones I had for years died when I moved last fall. I also usually keep a small container garden of veggies, but I decided to focus on landscaping this year. I mostly grow from seed, so I am also learning a lot about harvesting! I look forward to getting to know everyone.

Hi everyone!

Thanks Gemmy for starting this club! I’ve never joined a club on here before but over the last year I’ve started collecting houseplants and really enjoy filling my home with beautiful greenery. Up until last year I had absolutely no clue about keeping plants alive, and have muddled through.

I live in a flat (or apartment for non-UK people) and don’t have an outdoor space of my own, so indoor is where it’s at for me. In future I would love to have a veg patch in my very own garden, but for now I’ll live vicariously through you guys 🥰

I’m currently battling a fungus gnat problem after neglecting my blue star fern last year. Attempting the natural route with cinnamon and physical traps. I would love to build some knowledge on customising potting mixes for different plants. I’ve only dabbled with mixing compost/perlite and honestly have no idea what I’m doing. 😁

i grow tomatoes raspberries and all different kind of house flowers or flowers can grow on my balcony

Hello, im a ghost. Ive been collecting houseplants for several years despite not actually having a green thumb. My favorite plant is the pothos (cuz they're so easy to care for). I don't grow flowers just cuz they always die on me no matter what i do (except the highly invasive flowers i planted in my yard).

Hello everyone! 👋 I got into learning how to garden a couple years ago as I owned my first guinea pigs. They are always HONGRY, so I have been saving seeds for veggies, herbs, grass, and even taken to learning about edible weeds for them and myself. Space saving ideas with vertical gardens and pots to grow are what I'm about. I also have been collecting houseplants and multiplying them not just for added greenery to look at but also to improve air quality. I am excited to get my hands dirty! 🌱 I look forward to see everyone's projects here.
