I have practiced Yoga off and on over the past couple of decades. Ever since I hurt my back as a teenager, yoga has become beneficial to me for more than my body but my mind as well. I find it so adaptable for any needs and limitations. You can make it as challenging or as gentle as you need. If you can breathe... you can do yoga.  And don't forget the water. 💦 Always HYDRATE!

In Yoga, breathing is referred to as prana (breath of your lifeforce). Every pose is to move with each inhale and exhale. I like for my exhales to be a bit longer than 4 seconds and to go slower. Breathing out through your mouth can be more effective. My trainer once told me to think of birthday cake. 🎂"Breathe in deep through your nose to smell the cake. Then blow hard out your mouth to put out the candles." 💨 Really saturate your blood with oxygen for your brain, muscles, and other organs. Make it feel like a massage inside.

Start with what feels good for you and learn your body's ability to move. This is about self-acceptance. 💗

I just started doing Yoga. I am following a yoga app. I need help with strength and flexibility. It's proving to be a little challenging but I know as I am older it's going to benefit me.
