Pancakes, waffles or French toast?? I was debating this topic with a friend and my cop out for the latter was too much work to make. He then told me that you can meal prep all the French toast you'll ever want in one go and freeze them (ziploc bag for up to 6 months). Then, when you want some, you can put a slice or two into the toaster to reheat. Easy breakfast in the mornings is what I'm about!

This version I picked out is high protein. In this thread, reply below your own recipes or variations for French Toast.

protein french toast recipe

Makes 6 servings

6 slices of bread (your choice)

2 large eggs

3 large egg whites (about 1/2 cup egg whites)

1 tsp ground cinnamon

1/2 cup milk (your choice)

1 scoop/serving protein powder (I prefer vanilla flavor)

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

ย

Whisk all ingredients (except for the bread slices) together in mixing bowl until well combined. Dip each slice into the custard and soak up both sides. Lightly spray a skillet or griddle with cooking spray and warm to medium heat. Add slices of bread to cook 4-5 minutes, then flip. Toast them until crispy to your liking or less for a softer, spongey texture. Serve up with powder sugar sprinkled over, topped with fruit, drizzle with syrup... The choice is yours! These can keep in the fridge for up to 3 days (if you can wait that long).
