Has anyone done cross stitching?

I don't think I seen a topic that's about cross stitching (unless it's somewhere in another topic or someone posted about it months ago) but I wanted to see if anyone has done it before or just starting on recently? I had a cross stitch kit for a while now and I haven't really started on it since it looked to be a bit difficult to do. But I decided to give it a chance and so far it's not that hard. The thing I noticed though is that it takes time unless I stay focused on it continuously. Of course, I would like to listen to music or have some type of video playing in the background while cross stitching to keep me focused lol.. but I'm wondering does anyone enjoy cross stitching? And was it hard to do at first? I was thinking if I continue to buy some kits after I finish this one then I may get better at it.

I've done cross stitching off and on over the past couple of decades. I like to listen to audiobooks while doing it. I for sure have made mistakes but you can't tell and eventually I forget where the error ended up 😛 What has helped me is to color in the squares on the pattern that I have done (make a copy of it if you don't want to mark up the original). I haven't needed this tip, but a friend recently showed me this erasable grid they put on the fabric to help them count.

What is it that you are making? Sometime in the near future I want to make this with the words "Shhhh, the piggies are sleeping" 😄

@Andriel_IsilienYou say on the fabric? Hmm... well the cross stitching kit I have, the fabric already have these symbols on it so I'm not sure I could color what I already done in. But maybe I'm not understand it correctly? 😓 That pattern is too cute!

 

Right now I'm working on 2 kittens.

@Liz777 oh! I was thinking, when we are done we could post our cross stitching, if that's fine with you. It may take me some time to finish mine though cause I'm working on it slowly.

Cross stitch is my jam. I make patterns here and there and opened a little Etsy store for my quirkyness. I’ve got a couple of larger works I switch between during the year. Hoping to have them done in maybe the next couple years 😆 maybe

I used to cross stitch! I loved it, but my migraines were too bad to do it for a while. I may try picking it up again though!

I love to cross stitch! I jokingly call it my old lady activity 😄 I really like to do vintage patterns, like samplers, and village/house scenes! However, the last one I finished was a mutli-colored cow that I am obsessed with 😍
