I know Bigs and littles here both love to cook!!!!

Please please tell me your favoritest Thanksgiving/autumn dish to cook!!! I would love to learn about that!!!  Is it a family tradition? Is it only because it is so yummy???

I was talking to someone recently who did not cook turkey, but maked ribs instead!!! And they sounded so yummy!!!!

i love macaroni and cheese casserole and pickled beets and lemon meringue pie for my Thanksgiving!!! And I always make a cake bc my boys do not like pie, can you imagine!!!! 🫢😯😱😮

But we always, always have the bestest ever ever ever Thanksgiving. ☺️☺️☺️

And also please tell me about yours!!!!

The meat can be anything and I am fine but turkey is our traditional go to. 

 It took me several years but I finally have what I think passes for my mom's ambrosia fruit salad and my dad's coleslaw.  They both cooked from memory on these dishes so there was no written recipe. It took a lot of trial and error but a couple years ago I got really close and now I think I have the closest I will get. Those two dishes were on every holiday table so I had to learn them. I've had family tell me "It's good but it's not your dad's or it's not your mom's". It tastes like memories to me so I'm happy with them now. I could actually just have those 2 things on the table and my brother and I would be content.

I love coleslaw and ambrosia salad! I love how you worked so hard to figure out the recipes your mom and dad made. I bet they taste so amazing! I don’t usually have coleslaw or ambrosia salad for Thanksgiving, but I bet that would be delicious! The ambrosia salad kind of reminds me of the sweet potatoes with marshmallows on them!

I think the coleslaw and ambrosia salad help balance things since it is usually warm down here. It's currently 70F and we have rain coming so I like having a couple cool dishes. I am running around outside in shorts and a t-shirt manning the smoker to make sure my bird is perfect.
