shadowrider Posted November 15, 2022 Report Posted November 15, 2022 " Pareidolia is a psychological phenomenon that causes people to see patterns in a random stimulus. This often leads to people assigning human characteristics to objects. Usually this is simplified to people seeing faces in objects where there isn't one." A lot of us grew up looking for faces in clouds but over the years I have noticed that I can usually find a face or an animal or something in almost any picture or landscape. I was just looking at the header on the forum and a couple things popped out at me. I'm just curious how many other people here have done or still do this. Below is the header image and beneath that are the things I saw with just a few seconds of looking at it. I removed the bear logo and my gator because I already know who would have said I missed the bear and gator. 2
Vampiress Posted November 15, 2022 Report Posted November 15, 2022 I do this a lot, especially with walls or floors with designs or textures that aren't just one solid, flat color. It can keep me pretty entertained for a while. 1 1

So many vehicles look like silly cartoon cars, with their headlight eyes, and bumper/grill smile. Hehehe ☺️💜 Edited November 15, 2022 by LilBitz
Sloth Fairy Posted November 15, 2022 Report Posted November 15, 2022 Oh I have a picture I took while at a doctor's office. I see a specific character from a movie in this. Who is it? 1
LoverEcho Posted November 15, 2022 Report Posted November 15, 2022 @Sloth Fairy I've been looking at this for a few minutes.. I see Gimli ⚔️ 1

Growing up we had a bathroom with butterfly wallpaper print that was the only thing I could stare at as a kid while doing my business 😅 We didn't have books or magazines to pass the time but funky wallpaper that you could see faces or other shapes in. Kinda trippy LOL 2

Skeezix Posted November 16, 2022 Report Posted November 16, 2022 One time I saw a cloud that looked like a dog... that was on fire. 4 hours ago, Andriel_Isilien said: That owl looks like a carbon copy of the owl in Secret of Nimh 😮 That's because those movies were both Don Bluth productions. 3

Sloth Fairy Posted November 16, 2022 Report Posted November 16, 2022 (edited) I suppose it's like the ink blot test. People see different things. What would they say about my psyche seeing Gimli from LOTR? 😆 Edited November 16, 2022 by Sloth Fairy 1
Andriel_Isilien Posted November 16, 2022 Report Posted November 16, 2022 This conversation reminds me of this meme 2

I removed the bear logo and my gator because I already know who would have said I missed the bear and gator. I didn't see the face but I see a fish, a side view of a hand and a rams head. I also see consecutive numbers on a regular basis. Does anyone else experience that? What numbers do you see the most? Mine are mostly 3:33 and 2:22. I do see others but not as often. (If I've high jacked the thread, I apologize. It just came to mind with the content)🙂
San Antonio bitty Posted November 25, 2022 Report Posted November 25, 2022 I do this often, especially when looking at bushes or trees! I had no idea it was a thing. I'm an artist so chalked it up to my crazy. I love this! 1

shadowrider Posted January 25, 2023 Author Report Posted January 25, 2023 The angle doesn't catch it quite right and yes I know I need to dust my screen. But the firefox logo reminds me of Paul Stanley.
