Give me a topic and I write a poem

I like writing poetry but it can be tough to come up with inspiration sometimes. So I figure it could fun to let anyone give me a topic and I'll write you a poem related to that topic. Could just be a noun or a word. You can even suggest a specific vibe/tone you want. We shall see how it goes!

How about carousel and the animal figures in it?

Thanks for the suggestion! Here you go:

The horse runs all day
Hoping to break free
To be on his own.
Galloping,
Galloping,
Galloping,
But no matter what
He cannot escape.
So he circles on
Waiting for his day.
When the music stops
Yet he can still run.

Owls are great! This is kind of scattered but here you go!

Who will I be?
Who will find me?
All turn to me for wisdom
For comfort, for truth.

So I sleep by day
To guide the night,
Daydreaming the skies.

Sometimes I get answers
Sometimes I get mice
Sometimes I want it to stop.

And hopefully one day dream
Will teach me how many licks
To the center of a tootsie pop.

Tacos. 🖤 🌮 ::giggles::

I will never say no to a taco!
I will eat anything in a taco,
Especially if it's guaco.

You can eat a taco for breakfast.
You can eat a taco for lunch.
You can munch the taco crunch for brunch!

How will we get peace? Tacos.
How will we stop war? Tacos.
How will we stay hydrated? Water with a side of tacos.

So we owe so much to tacos,
And never try to remove choco tacos
ever again.
Seriously, I need choco tacos forever.

So sad :(

But amazing poem, thank you ❤️

How about unicorns? I once saw a book in a library called a Glory of Unicorns which would be equivalent of like a pack of dogs, a murder of crows, etc. I think that'd be fun to work into a poem.

Could you try to do one about a Little Baker? Something fun with silly baking stuff mixed in?  These are so cute and fun

I don’t know if this suggestion is too abstract but maybe a poem about meeting someone at the wrong time in your lives? Like someone you could have been close to but a few years earlier or under different circumstances? (You can pass on this if it’s too vague but any spin on the idea would be cool to see). ☺️

That’s my adult suggestion. My little self would suggest: a person becoming a prince/princess/ruler of a land of strange creatures 😅

Great suggestion. Here you go! (I'll get to your little self suggestion later)

Behold your voice calling to set me free,
But fear from the past leaves me to ask why;
I know only what is in front to see.

You take my body close to care with glee,
I cling to your shoulder longing to cry;
Behold your voice calling to set me free.

You try many moments to make us "we,"
But I recall only the other guy;
I know only what is in front to see.

So the yelling began as you would plea,
I could no longer look you in the eye;
Behold your voice calling to set me free.

No more morning texts as you moved to flee,
How quick the ending was with no goodbye;
I know only what is in front to see.

When I do heal, you will be proud of me;
Looking on my life with love from the sky.
Behold your voice calling to set me free,
I know only what is in front to see.

Here you go! The internet tells me that a group of unicorns is also called a blessing so I worked that in as well.

She rode by night in stride,

Silver hair following her path.

The cool air felt mystical,

a glorious hue hovering

the atmosphere.

Her wit could pierce mountains

Like the horn upon her head.

And like that horn, she too was alone.

Maybe one day she will find others

To share stories of adventure,

And know her species will live on.

That would truly be a blessing.

Love it! Kind of reminds me of The Last Unicorn. I love that movie.

There was a little baker named Starlight,

who loved to drink cans of Sprite.

She was making some cake,

Which exploded in the bake

Behold the Upside Down Sprite Can Cake.

Oh do I know how to pick 'em.
I can pick while sleeping,
I can pick while weeping,
Nothing gets in my way.

They call me the matchmaker;
I don't just pick for me;
I will pick for you too...
Your boogers of course.

I will pick every single booger,
They are sweet to me like sugar.
You say, "ew. Troll bogeys."
I say "put them in my hoagies."

Okay, so after some thinking I've thought of a topic I'd like to see you have a go at: the feeling of wanting to experience something for the first time again.

I was too excited to sleep so here you go. May not be as clear as I would have liked but hope you like it! Great suggestion :D

Backwards those get to skip hearts,

You love.
Still I know...

Me marry you?
Will only regret this.

Experience that feeling again.
Less breathe, breathless;
Again, feeling that experience...

This regret only.

"Will you marry me?"

No...
...
...
...
I still love you.

Hearts skip to get those words back.
