AmandaBear Posted November 11, 2022 Report Posted November 11, 2022 I've taken over cooking for Thanksgiving. It has been an adventure to say the least. One thing I do like is how my family gets together around the holidays. 1

One thing I do like is how my family gets together around the holidays. The first time you cook a meal like that can be intimidating. It's just me and my brother now so I do 95% of all holiday cooking. I really had to learn to scale back or I would have enough food for a dozen people and only feeding 2 lol. Time with loved ones is always the best part of the holidays. 1
Married_Lg Posted November 15, 2022 Report Posted November 15, 2022 My grandparents started taking me to McDonald’s on Thanksgiving Eve back when I was like 4-7 when they had the indoor playground. It was a special treat. And then I got older and wanted to go to a Chinese buffet, so now our tradition is Chinese on the night before thanksgiving. Sometimes it’s buffet, sometimes it’s take out. It’s my favorite tradition either way. 2
Guest LilBitz Posted November 18, 2022 Report Posted November 18, 2022 One tradition I’ve always loved, is the “Gratitude Tree”, or “Thankful Tree”. The idea is to fill the bare tree with all the things you are thankful for (🍁leaves), giving yourself a visual of how full your life truly is. I love how versatile it is as well… it is definitely a tradition that you and your family can make all their own. From the way you choose to make the tree, or buy one, to the way you choose to make the leaves… printables, or clay ornaments, or real leaves, etc. It’s something very special that provides decoration and creates memories, but also serves as a very important reminder of the importance of gratitude. There are so many different ways to fill up your tree. You can have a special day where you craft the leaves with family. You can print out leaves and sit them by the tree, allowing people to add leaves whenever they want. You can place a leaf and a marker at every plate at the dinner table on Thanksgiving Day, and have each guest make one before eating. There are so many ways to make it your own! 🥰 *How to Make a Thanksgiving Tree*
DaddysMonkey Posted November 24, 2022 Report Posted November 24, 2022 The Monkey household is starting a new tradition since @Expired moved in with Dad and I this year. One of our favorite family activities is going shooting , and since a lot of people either wake up early to start cooking or sleep in and stay home , there’s not a lot of people out and about. We have a special little place we have permission to go , the weather was gorgeous. Perfectly sunny and chilly in shady spots , and after we picked up from shooting we walked around a piece of the property. It was a really nice Thanksgiving morning , now we’re home and I’m posting a few things now that I’m in my pajamas , Dad is making a pumpkin pie and when he’s done in the kitchen I’ll start making our Thanksgiving feast. 1 1
