HI,

As for learning there are books and tons of videos on youtube. You can also check out shibaristudy dot com, they are a paid tutorial site but usually have a short free period where you can explore. They also cover a lot of topics like tying bigger bodies and suspension. I would think if you joined you could ask them questions that are pertinent to your situation and they should be able to answer anything you need to know.

I would say start slow and simple and see how you like it. Plus simple knots untie faster if you need out due to pain or discomfort due to arthritis or anything else.

As for supplies you could buy online but it's best to actually hold the rope and feel it and online you can't do that.

I suggest Tractor Supply if you have one near you. If not try a pet supply store or co-op. They sell collars, leads/leashes, rope, chain, and even zip ties and duct tape. Mine actually now has glow in the dark rope too.

Best thing about them is you can buy a couple collars a few leashes and several things of pretty rope and they don't even bat an eye.

Main thing is give it a try and have some fun.

For starting definitely look up videos and books there is so much good stuff out there. I bought my rope online just do research on what type you want because the texture is different, holds knots a bit different ect. I got mine online, i bought nylon because i knew it was gonna be softer for what i like ( i self tie) even tho i know the knots are a little harder to hold

-there is no weight limit! Definitely stick with ground work because yall are beginners but even for in air tieing its about useing the right stuff.

For arthritis i would just be gentle on yourself make sure youre doing lots of streching before and after and make sure youre communicateing while in the rope and if you have certain areas you know are worse try ties that dont incorporate that part or modify it to work for you
