shadowrider Posted October 3, 2022 Report Posted October 3, 2022 So random thought time. I think we all loved the Golden Girls and can relate on some level to at least one of them. I've seen all those apps/games where you answer questions and it tells you which whatever you are. Well I can't program an app so I'm going to rely on you to look at yourself and be honest in picking which Golden Girl you are. You can of course say which you would like to be but give us the real answer. Your choices for those that can't remember their names (how dare you). Sophia Petrillo Dorothy Zbornak Rose Nylund Blanche Devereaux I would like to say I am a mix of Sophia, Dorothy, and Rose but let's keep it real. At the depth of my being I feel I am a Rose all day long. She was a simple country girl from a small village and her stories and jokes usually made people want to leave the room. I think we can all agree that sounds like yours truly. If you disagree please refer to my many status updates as evidence. Also feel free to tell me if you see me as someone else.
Sloth Fairy Posted October 3, 2022 Report Posted October 3, 2022 (edited) I think I'm a weird combo of Dorothy and Rose. I think adult me is more sarcastic and serious like Dorothy, but littlespace me is like Rose, a bit silly and clueless, lol. But I totally want to be Sophia when I'm old and in a Shady Pines like facility. Edited October 3, 2022 by Sloth Fairy 2
Shybutcreative Posted March 4, 2023 Report Posted March 4, 2023 Sophia all the way. Loving, sarcastic, wise and funny. With a touch Rose wanting to play and watch cartoons. 2
Erasmeus71 Posted March 4, 2023 Report Posted March 4, 2023 (edited) Will as one that has watched every episode of it. Sophia who likes to talk about back in Italy. Will I am a historian an goes there. However I have sarcasm of a Dorothy that is dry. Now I can't say I have the sense of humor of Rose as she made everyone laugh with Nordic jokes. Oh, I am 1/4 Norwegian. I love animals like Rose, so I am a mix of the three. I don't go chasing after woman! Blanche was going after men of all ages so that was a definite NO. Erasmeus71 Posted March 5, 2023 Report Posted March 5, 2023 3 minutes ago, GayKitten said: uggggggh this is SUCH a good question, and is ALSO shining a light on a TERRIBLE gap in my history of tv-watching-as-a-queer!! sooooooooo i'm gonna lurk until i can gather enough context clues to try to answer, so i can feel cool and like part of the group again 😛 I can tell you about the show if you want. Sophia is an elderly lady that has had a stroke. Mother of Dorothy. She is a widow. Dorothy is divorced from from Stan that kept trying to get getting back together. They rented rooms from Blanches house who lost her husband in Miami. Rose came from North Dakota kept talking about back on the farm and Norwgian stories. St. Olaf which is in Minnesota if you did not know that. It is a Lutheran College. Will they did not get along with each other. They found out they all liked cheese cake. Whenever someone did not feel like sleeping or all of them most likely they ate cheesecake. Stan would come in constantly and Sophia would catch Dorthey and Stan tother. at times. Last episode they got married back together . That finished the whole thing. As three could not go on without Dorothy. 1
Shybutcreative Posted March 5, 2023 Report Posted March 5, 2023 The show covered lots of current events with a common sense way of looking at them and talking about them. Comedy, love, friendship and sex. All rolled up with wicker furniture with flowers. 1
Shybutcreative Posted March 5, 2023 Report Posted March 5, 2023 The golden palace was just sad. When Miles left Rose I was pissed. He was Player giggling 😂 1
Erasmeus71 Posted March 5, 2023 Report Posted March 5, 2023 One thing the Golden girls covered was LGBTQ+ as Blanche found out her grandson was transgender and wanted to now be a girl. So you missed that part. @GayKitten you would of found that one interesting. One daughter of Blanche wanted to use sperm from a sperm bank so she could have a baby. So like @Shybutcreativesays it covered a number of different topics that happened over time. Mainly 90's if I got decade right.
Shybutcreative Posted March 5, 2023 Report Posted March 5, 2023 My son is 22 and he loves the show as well. Helped us to open up with some of our best conversations. If a group showing could be set up and someone tells me how to join I am so there. Or a trivia game which I have no idea how to answer on line. 1
gemmy Posted April 18, 2023 Report Posted April 18, 2023 Dorothy forever. Seems I need to dig out my box set and do a rewatch... 1
