Silly Pet Stories!

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone, I was just thinking, many of us have furry friends, and they can definitely be goofy sometimes! Sometimes we need a wholesome break, so I wanted to start this thread to share silly stories. I'll start us off!

I have one kitty cat, her name is Ginger. She's about 2 now, a tortie, and is usually very well-behaved, especially for a kitty. Ginger gets a little human food now and again as a special treat, and is always patient and makes sure she's allowed to have it before she eats it. We usually give her chicken, turkey, etc. Her table manners are impeccable! Well, almost always. Her kryptonite? Avocados of all things! For some reason, when she sees/smells them, she turns a little crazy and will do anything she can to get it. We have found an avocado with claw marks in it on more than one occasion. If we have a sandwich with it, it's all she can seem to focus on. How weird!

What about you? Please share below! ❤️

I didn't know about cats liking avocados so much! 😄 How cute. Do you have a photo of your tortie??

I volunteer at a petting zoo, and they have ferrets which I am learning about. Ferrets are so goofy, crazy, and fun to watch! One random day at the zoo I saw this in the playpen area where they all were. 🤣 He fell asleep under the house. Reminded me of the wicked witch of the east from the Wizard of Oz LOL

My baby was itsy bitsy when i found him on the side of the road, he was dirty and barely getting his milk teeth. He was completely fine other than being a bit stinky, with dirty ears, and a few ouchies but oddly quiet, where he wouldnt purr/mew/or curr..I worried he may have hurt his mouth or was hurt somewhere causing him issues but he had a really healthy appetite, let me bath him relatively easily, and otherwise seemed like a rambunctious kitten with his toys.

Fast forward a few months, and I was in the process of moving  and my bedroom was completely empty. (To picture it, a tiny room with bare walls and hard flat concrete floors.) I was in the kitchen putting some other stuff in a box and I hear the sound of mewwing, but not continuous just
"mew.....pause.....mEEWWWWWWW....pause.....MmmeeEWWW..."
so i quietly follow the sound to my empty bedroom and see him sitting in the middle of the floor, facing the wall and just testing his voice...like a hiker yelling into the abyss from the top of a mountain.... "hellloooo...HELLooooOOO"  and hearing it echo back to them...
I dont know why but my eyes immediately started welling up with happy tears, like finally!! to which he must have heard me cuz he turned around and just started meowing and talking to me, then I picked him up and he started purring. it was like he finally just settled and a switch flipped.

Well long story short, he is the most talktive and DEMANDING baby. He talks constantly now. he will demand his way into my bedroom if i go to sleep without him, or if he wants a nibble of food he will sit and grumble at me til he gets a small bite. but i get him back xD

@Peachygrrl How on earth did you get your three boys to get along?! 😲 Mine always fight because there is just too much testosterone after 10 minutes in each other's company. The cage looks spectacular! What are their names?

@andrielisilien I've read a lot about that particular problem so I've been surprised too, but the light brown guy is father to the other two.  And mama died when the brothers were only 5 days old, so they have been with just daddy their whole lives. Sorry you have to separate your boys! =(

Anyway, the light brown guy is Zoomie, the calico is Ziggy and the brown faced guy is Zuri.  Aren't piggies just the greatest? ❤️

Conversation I had with my father about my guinea pigs. I'm always joking about them having the intellegence of a potato but still adorable as ever 🥔

Me: Did you know that a guinea pig's normal body temperature is equivalent to a fever for a human? The range is 102 - 104 F

My father (a retired doctor): 104?!!! That's when your brain gets cooked!

Me: Oh.... is that why their brains are like potatoes?

My father: .......

Me: 😐

Picture of said potatoes. 🤭  Not a thought behind those eyes, just love 💕

Abyssian guinea pigs are known in the pet community to be punks and have an attitude. I think it comes with the crazy hairdo. 😆 We are now calling it "abby-tude". I did a full cage cleaning last night and this morning I slept in a bit because of daylight savings. This spoiled boy showed me what he thought about breakfast being late. Look at him dozing in his box. No shame at all! 🤣

Wow what a brat! Guinea pigs do seem like they are VERY serious about their food.

I finally got on camera Wilbur's drama when getting his nails done. Sure, no pet likes nail trimming, but this boi takes the cake with his antics. 😅 If I dare touch his paws, even to massage coconut oil (to protect his little toesies) he will cry enough to melt the coldest of hearts. 💔 Note the pea flake container to my left on standby. We took lots of snack breaks to pacify this spoiled boi 🙄 No piggies were harmed during this process even though Wilbur squealed like he was. 😂

Wow! He reminds me of my dog. My dog is so bad about getting his nails taken care of I just take him to the groomer because he throws too much of a fit for me to handle. He'll whine, cry, and then if he gets really annoyed he'll pretend like he's gonna bite me (he has never ever bitten me).

Not my pets. I help out at a petting zoo. They just got these newborn lambs that are the cutest! They charge at everyone and someone took a spill 🤭

these are great stories

I have a dog named Rye, named after his brown and black brindle coat like Rye bread - he's pretty clumsy sometimes and doesn't pay attention to his surroundings (like his mom). I'd been working on training him not to run out the back door the minute it's open for safety reasons. One day, I opened the back door to go out and he bolts and runs smack into the screen door and just looks so shocked at this intrusion, I was dying laughing for a good 5 minutes.
