Apple Julep

1qt Apple juice

1 cup orange juice

1 cup pineapple juice

1/4 cup lemon juice

Fresh mint

Mix and serve over ice with a sprig of fresh mint

Use fresh squeezed juices or the best quality you can get for the best end result.

This is super refreshing

I'm curious what the word "Julep" means. At first I thought it was a typo for juice but now I'm thinking, "No, he probably meant that." 😅 LOL I'm just curious as I have never seen the word.

According to the dictionary.

1 : a drink consisting of a liquor (such as bourbon or brandy) and sugar poured over crushed ice and garnished with mint

2 : a drink consisting of sweet syrup, flavoring, and water

 

The most well know would be the Mint Julep and is a huge thing at the Kentucky Derby horse races. It has the alcohol in it.

The Apple Julep I posted is from one of my favorite places in Tennessee, The Apple Barn. They are made fresh using apple juice from their orchards and are so good. They also make fresh apple fritters that are dusted with powdered sugar, I can share that recipe if you would like to try them.
