Glad to hear that he has reached out to you and that he is unharmed, but sorry to hear of his grandmother's passing. I hope that any discussion you had will lead to this being only a one time thing and that he knows better to at least give you a heads up when he needs space for big things in the future. If he does this again, however, I would reconsider waiting for him a second time. Good luck to both of you!
