shadowrider Posted June 19, 2022 Report Posted June 19, 2022 As you can see we have had a lot of things happen in our down time. The forum has been upgraded and has a lot of new features. I will go over some of them here as I have time but for starters We no longer have friends we have followers, that was something the host decided. You can ignore members which will hide their posts. You can turn off your status updates now in your settings. Now when you click a topic you will be taken to the first unread comment instead of the beginning, The theme is darker but is also color changing. As the sun rises where you are the theme will get brighter and will dim as the day turns to night. That should help everyone lying in their bed at night surfing. We will also be changing over the login protocol in a week or so. The new method will use your email instead of your username. Since usernames are public knowledge it will be safer for everyone to use emails since only you have that info. I will make an announcement about this as soon as I can. I will post more as I learn more about the new system. I hope you all enjoy the new forum. Also a big shout out to my man Terabyte for his amazing work getting us up to date and creating some of the things we needed that were no longer available. Much appreciation buddy. 11 3

That is only visible to you and staff. No one else has access to that info as we know that isn't something a lot of people want to share. 2

We will be using that for any upcoming events like contests or site maintenance. Well if I can figure out how to remove the birthdays from it I will set it back up. 4 1

To adjust this setting you will need to do the following: Log in Use the drop down menu from your username Select Account Settings On the left side menu select Security and Privacy Select Hide My Online Status It will auto save and will remain active until you change it. 3
shadowrider Posted June 20, 2022 Author Report Posted June 20, 2022 For those that would like to add security to their profile I suggest the following: From your username drop down menu select Manage Followers Select Privacy Settings Choose one of the following Profile is open for registered users only (this will make sure no guests can see your profile) Profile is open for (approved) followers only (except admins) (This makes your profile private from anyone but Admin and your followers) Click save and you're done 4
shadowrider Posted June 20, 2022 Author Report Posted June 20, 2022 Ok I have finally found a way to block guests from viewing profiles to add to security. I have also removed guests ability to see the online user list and status updates since sometimes people may overshare personal things there. 2

According to the host description: Clubs are areas created by members and may be allowed to contain Forums, Gallery Categories and Calendars. Club Owners can make their Clubs public or require members to join before they can see and participate in them. Club Owners can also make other members co-leaders of the club or moderators. I think its a mobile issue since I haven't had any trouble and I almost never use mobile. But it has been reported to the tech maestro. I'll keep you informed.
shadowrider Posted July 23, 2022 Author Report Posted July 23, 2022 A quick update on things happening in the background, The security cert has been renewed and the security updated. The site now has an "A" rating so we can all feel warm and fuzzy when we log in. The chat has been running smoothly and I think everyone that uses it is enjoying it. So the upgrade will be coming soon. We have a couple clubs that are in the planning and discussion phase. We will have more info on those as soon as all the particulars are ironed out. We also have a new badge for the coloring contest. You don't have to win to get it, just enter and share your art. 1
