Honestly, getting a good therapist is probably the best step I've taken so far after leaving a toxic/abusive relationship a few years ago. Other than that I can't really say, as it's so individual how we deal, what works, and how long it takes to get better. Just know you're not alone in this experience though, you'll get through it! ^_^

Agree with soft Daddy J.

Find someone to help you navigate this and process your feelings. It's ok to feel guilty and grieve the relationship as long as you don't go back into a cycle of abuse.
