Little kaiya Posted August 16, 2021 Report Posted August 16, 2021 There are certainly a lot of different ways to calm down in times of stress: meditation, exercise, reading, colouring, cuddling stuffies and more. Daddy and I have found the absolute best way for Him to calm me down is by having me listen to His heartbeat. If I get restless or stressed He will have me lay on His chest and hurt listen to His heartbeat while He strokes my hair. There really is nothing quite like it to settle and erase stress. If He can't be with me He gave me a recording of His heartbeat to play. Not the same as being cuddled by Him but still far more effective than anything else we've found. Anyone else and their caregiver use heartbeats as a calming technique? Little kaiya 1
Guest Babyish-Little-Me Posted August 16, 2021 Report Posted August 16, 2021 That's super adorable! I've never got to try or experience that, but I can definitely see how that would help calm down. The close intimacy with your caregiver and the steady beat, would totally be soothing.
Akuchiakuba Posted August 17, 2021 Report Posted August 17, 2021 I don't have a caregiver and most likely never will, but I do know that I really value the sound of a warm heartbeat. I have this sleep sound app for helping me get to sleep, and I have on that a heartbeat recording. I put it on with some background house noises so that I can play pretend as I'm falling asleep. That might be a little weird, but I do find it helpful. ^^
moondust mochi Posted September 1, 2021 Report Posted September 1, 2021 this is so sweet, omgosh. Daddy + i are long distance, but for me, nothing is more calming than sinking to my knees at Her feet and resting my head on Her lap. it's like a deep sigh of relief for both of us, i think. kneeling for Her is one of the first things we do together once we're alone in person.
LeeLee1 Posted September 7, 2021 Report Posted September 7, 2021 I have panic attacks and I use daddy’s chest to calm down to.
