Guest kittycandy's Daddy Posted April 6, 2015 Report Posted April 6, 2015 As well as being a Daddy who likes to draw and paint, I also like military related stuff.Being in Australia we're not allowed any of the niceties of the US so I have to use my creative skills to satisfy my desires. I buy 1:1/90% scale toys and modify them to either look or function realistically or both. I'd probably sell them if they weren't so expensive and time consuming to make. Normally I open them up, gut them and either create functioning parts out of aluminum pipes and wood or just paint them. What sort of cosplay or prop making do you guys participate in?Do you have a favorite cosplayer or prop maker? What's something you'd really want to try one day? -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Below is a Remington 870 I've painted and still need to finish a stock for, an F88 Austeyr A2 and an M18 smoke grenade plastic model I bought from Japan + the wall I hang them all on w/ an M14 EBR
PrincessBunnieButt Posted April 6, 2015 Report Posted April 6, 2015 Those look awesome!! Its been forever since I last made anything or cosplayed but I am getting back into with a passion recently. What sort of cosplay or prop making do you guys participate in? I love making the cosplay itself clothing or things like wings. I am just getting into weapons and all the different ways to make them. Do you have a favorite cosplayer or prop maker? Not really XD What's something you'd really want to try one day? Making a sword cane. <3
immalillady Posted April 7, 2015 Report Posted April 7, 2015 I make a lot more than I wear. I do a lot more with cloth than anything. But when I make weapons I prefer swords and staffs. I like figuring out how to make them light weight without giving up too much of the look.
Tiger Striperino Posted April 30, 2015 Report Posted April 30, 2015 I'm trying to put together an NCR trooper and Ranger outfit. The hardest part of the Trooper uniform is finding reproduction U.S. M1917 uniforms, so I'll probably just get an M1908 uniform, which are equally expensive and are a lighter shade of khaki.
Guest kittycandy's Daddy Posted May 1, 2015 Report Posted May 1, 2015 I'd love to see those two outfits when they're complete. I'm a bit of a fallout fan myself :3
Tiger Striperino Posted May 2, 2015 Report Posted May 2, 2015 If I ever get 'em together I'll post 'em on here.
Tiger Striperino Posted May 7, 2015 Report Posted May 7, 2015 I realize it's not exactly cosplay, but would anyone be averse to my posting of my WWII U.S. uniform impression on here?
Guest kittycandy's Daddy Posted May 7, 2015 Report Posted May 7, 2015 Go right ahead, I'm sure people would like to see it. Me included
