Helloooo Everyone.

I just wanted to ask the question as I see so many posts on music etc etc,

Who plays what instrument and what do you play, what is your favorite thing to play?

Ill Start.

I own 5 guitars,

2 electrics Both pre 2000 USA Fender Strats, and 3 Acoustics,  a Martin, Taylor and my first little 1/3 size nylon.

I can play Lead, rhythm and bass Ukulele

I enjoy playing anything from Elvis to Ed, old 50s and 60s to modern music, I try to take a song and make an acoustic version no matter how obscure.  (doesn't always work)

So there we have it, Tell me about your musical talents

Violin. I started about a month ago and I take private lessons to supplement my practice. I own an electric that I haven't named yet! And the acoustic rental that I started with.

I also played trumpet and flute for four years.

That is one nifty looking instrument. :)

As for myself, I used to play guitar.  7 years in classical guitar and a few more afterwards trying to play an electric since I was bored all to hell with acoustic.  It wasn't right for my head space at the time.

These days I don't play anything though I do sing.

I played the oboe for 9 years and I'd like to pick it back up again someday. I'm learning the mandolin and I've been a classical vocalist since I was a kid. One day I'd like to front a power metal project :3

I play guitar and sing/ I've had different equipment over the years but I've got rid of everything except this Norman six string that I use.

I would probably rather play an electric right now, but it's so easy to pick up an acoustic when writing and not have to think about equipment. The downside is that the voicing can become kind of uninspiring after a while.

I'm always impressed by instruments that aren't guitar though/ They can create really cool musical moments in songs. Violin, mandolin, and wind instruments are pretty cool.

I play the flute! I need to buy a new one though, my old one is too battered up and bent from being dropped/hit during marching band. I miss playing.

Since 1 year now got me a schottish bagpipe (because most of them have the same grip technique like a basic flute) and I play every day :)

I've played the violin since elementary school, I have an electric and acustic(?). I also play ukulele and mandolin decently. I can only play some Lana del Rey on piano. I also have a guitar, ocarina and flute but I can't play those very well. I am currently restoring 2 autoharps and making a vulcan lyre. I like string instruments.

I can play the guitar, but I also do digital music production too.

Music is my life :) It's great to read about other musical people on here.

I started on piano and cornet (brass instrument like a slightly squashed trumpet) when I was about 10. I've had thirty years to learn a few others, so can play flute, clarinet, alto sax, guitar, uke, bass, drums, violin, cello, accordion, pipe organ (the big ones with pedal boards etc). Piano is still my main instrument, I'm also into classical guitar at the moment. Unfortunately my singing voice is horrible (and my Mongolian throat singing never really got proficient)!

I also write music, for a few years I created electronic scores for a choreographer and these got performed at various shows. I would like to compose professionally (especially contemporary orchestral work - "arty-farty" stuff - Xenakis, Dusapin etc)... it's difficult to break in to.

As long as I can listen to music I'm happy.

i play guitars(nylon, steel, electric and bass) and some vintage analog synths(moogs and ms 20's etc etc ....)

i was doing some electronic live performance around the europe but i'm more into producing for a while .......

Sometimes I go overboard when I like things.

I know how to play Chopsticks.

Actually, no, just the piano and a bit of guitar, and both are fading fast since I am not using them. Produced my own music about 10 years ago, but I'm not near talented or good looking enough to have "made it".

I've had three musical "lives".

1.  Oboe.  Played classical music during my student years in school band and state orchestras.

2.  Saxophone.  Toward the end of my school years, I picked up alto sax and played jazz/blues.  Then at UMass Amherst I did marching band for a year.  At the end of college I played in a band for several years.  We played mostly original songs (that I didn't write), pretty Dave Matthews-ish.

3.  Piano/voice.  Haven't really committed myself properly to it, but having fun writing some songs and aspiring to try my hand at the singer/songwriter thing, just for fun.  Picked up piano along the way as there was always a piano in my house growing up.  I can also play a bit of flute and baritone horn.

I'm glad I found this thread :)

I love and collect musical instruments, especially exotic ones with unique sounds! Of course, that doesn't mean I'm good at playing them!:p

With that said, I play by ear, and prefer to only play what I've written or made up.

So far, I have my trusty, dusty keyboard from 3rd grade, a synth from the 80's that sounds like gameboy music, a brand new modern synth with a vocoder (!),a guitar, banjo, Turkish baglama (saz), concertina, a lap harp without levers, 2 little glockenspiels, 2 tin whistles, a m'bira from Zimbabwe, a Chinese "Dizi" flute, pan flute, and a triple octave ocarina. Also, a djembe, practice drum, and a pair of bongos, cause why not!

I currently play piano, and I'm having lessons.

I can also play guitar decently, I prefer acoustic guitars/pieces.

I can also play a little bass, considering it's basically guitar, just with 4 strings. xD

I can also play drums, and I had lessons until a few years ago when I stopped because I got bored.

I like to think I can sing, too.

My most recent purchase was an Ibanez EW20ASE.

I own another electro-acoustic (Yamaha, idk which model), an electric guitar, an Ibanez bass, and an Aria ukelele.

I also have a keyboard, Casio or Yamaha - I forget.

I own Sibelius as well, although I'm not very good at it, lol.

I studied Music at GCSE.

That's basically everything.

I've been playing the piano for 16 years. I can also play the flute and I'm learning the violin and trying to teach myself the guitar and I want to learn the trumpet too. I love music so much! It's a big part of my life and who I am. The piano is my main instrument. I love playing Chopin!

I love Chopin too! <3

His pieces are so beautiful.

You all are so awesome. I love musical people. I'm a classically trained singer. I like to think that I play piano well, but I'm not a pianist, if you get my drift. I've been trying to learn guitar for the past 10 years, but I'm still just a beginner. I also meddle a little in writing my own music.

I'm a classical pianist and a musical theatre performer!!! Working with my friend Yael to compose a musical at the moment, in fact!
